The Official PSAT For Saturday October 21, 2006

habitats since there are other monkies where they live. iam not sure

hmm, i put the techniques one... erg, i dunno =(

yup... :)

does anyone know how much the curve changes from psat to psat?

Yeah I remember there was one that said something like "Maria and I," which I marked as incorrect as it should be "Maria and me."
And I put techniques too.

And that there was that one about the Lincoln something something, and one of the choices was like "which some say resembles" or something along those lines.

that one needed a verb... so it u needed to make it an oppositive and then the verb works :)... the rest of the sentance u can like no count... b/c it's like more information..

What did you guys put for the question about the passage 1 hiker's rationalizations?

I'm actually feeling a bit confident about my score right now. Hmm.
I think lack of sleep + coffee splurge in the morning made my thinking a bit fuzzy.

yeah i agree with the lincoln one. do you guys remember the question with witch hunt on setence improv. was it a question of parrell. and did u guys think that paragaph improv. were a complete joke on writing.

Chinnu: Yes, the paragraph improv made me crack up somewhat. It was very very basic and straightforward. I found some of the answer choices to be ridiculous. :)
But finding questions easy is of course, a good sign.

Yeah, the paragraph seemed pretty easy.

il bandito-- we decided it was the physical description of the hikers.

No, I mean for the one about picking what the rationalizations actually were.

I was stuck between "justifying a decision" and "explaination of motives"

il bandito--I remember the gist of that question but my memory's failing me right now.

I'm pretty sure the rationalizations were to justify an impulsive decision.

YES that's what I put, snowia. :)
I'm pretty sure that was the right answer too, because the author impulsively wanted to venture into the forest and he used all of those rationalizations to justify it.

i put justifying a decision. here's what i think: he didn't do it for the motives initally. since he wanted to hike, he made up these motives to justify his decision

I put "justifying a decision"

Does anyone know for sure about that river barrier techniques/habitat question?

I put that one answer that said they ate termites, because I thought it was the only logical one. All of the other choices had items that were available to the monkeys but the termite one stated that the monkeys on one side did not have termites to eat.

When does collegeboard post the actual answers?

same here psycho. i put that too
