Rejected. Absolutely predictable after being deferred EA. 12 years of hard work and sacrifice, and for what? A cruddy piece of recyclable paper with the sole power of ruining one's dreams and aspirations.

My Stats at the time of application:
Unweighted Final Average: 97.89 (my school doesn't rank, but I'm fairly certain I'm in the top 3 out of about 350 people)
Weighted Final Average: 98.68 (my school's weighting system is horrible)
12 Honors, 11 APs

SAT I: 1440 (720 M, 720 V)
SAT IIs: Math Level 2 700, US History 780, Writing 650, Chemistry 710, Math Level 1 680, World History 760, Ecological Biology 760 (sighs Absolutely disastrous, these doomed me. I had the worst luck and timing when taking these. . .moving on. . .)
ACT: 34 English, 32 Math, 34 Reading, 27 Science = 32 Composite
APs: AP Biology 5, AP Chemistry 5, AP American History 5, AP Computer Science A 5, AP European History 5, AP Language and Composition 4
PSAT: 216, was it? In SAT terms, I got a 740 M, 710 V. Too bad I can't use my PSATs in lieu of SAT I's (even though its only a 10 point difference).

MIT Interview:
I think it went very well. No way of knowing, but I was cool and confident, and I got all of my good points across. My interviewer also seemed like a nice guy.

Essays: Yeah. . .I'm not good at college essays. Not to mention the prompts, IMHO, were horrible.

Well its their loss, and I doubt the ability of the admissions office if they can't see me as a worthy applicant. Sigh. . .I had hoped MIT would be able to look past those ridiculous jokes people call standardized tests. . .that essay probably did me in too. . .but I understand, the competition is rigorous. As I can see, there are a lot of extremely talented applicants, and some completely out of my league. My congratulations to all who made it, and to everyone else, hopefully we'll pull through. Still a huge letdown though.

Guys please post decisions only... make a new thread for discussion.. it's easier for lurkers..
