@smashley93

I don’t think not having those sections would mean anything negative… maybe at the worst, if you are supposed to have it and if you didn’t it would be a system error and not indicating your acceptance or rejection… I had that since January when they told us to do myberkeleyapp so I am pretty sure that it has nothing to do with your acceptance and that it depends on your major

@Cayton
You’re always called.

Did you have the major section on myberkleyapp?

@music1990

hahaha wow that was fast!

so now that it’s settled, back to my main question… does anyone have idea why we are asked to do a separate secondary app for Berkeley?

@music1990 @wintergreeen
I just checked my own as well; I also have that section. Just to clarify, the courses I filled out there are the articulation agreements from assist.org for my major, so it would make sense for music1990 not to have that section, as he previously mentioned not having any pre-reqs for his major.

@music1990

Yes, I did. Why do you ask?

I actually had another question, and it’s making me a bit nervous when I think about it. In my TAU when I filled it out, all of the classes I’m taking at the moment, are listed as PL (planned) on my transcript, versus IP (in-progress)… Do you guys think that might have a major impact on their decision? They would have asked/emailed me to confirm if they were curious about that, right?

@Cayton
Because some of us don’t. It’s obvious why I don’t have them, but someone who does have pre reqs also doesn’t have that section.

@wintergreeen
I wondered that myself. Maybe for you who have pre reqs it is for major GPA, like you thought. It’s also easier for them to calculate UC GPA.

Alright. I just got off the phone with admissions as well. Some majors, including my own, do not require the extra major pre-req form. Even though I have specific courses listed on ASSIST, Cal does not require the form. I told the admissions officer that everyone on CollegeConfidential was freaking out, he laughed, and said, “Tell them not to worry!” Haha

@Anxiety94 Mine are all listed as PL (planned) as well! I think it should be fine considering most of us did fill out the update before the Spring semester started! Admissions probably knows that

Actually… on my actual UC application, it all says in progress. It’s only on the myBerkeley site, where it says planned. Odd.

@Anxiety94
No you’re good, don’t worry about that. I asked them the same question a month or two ago.

@music1990

I won’t lie…that’s pretty strange. If you have pre-reqs that Berkeley explicitly requires and you can’t list them, you should call the Berkeley admissions office to ask about that. That’s all I can recommend.

Yeah for development studies there is no major prereq form as well. Just the uc transferable courses, breadth requirements, and the TAU

For future reference, would you guys be willing to list what majors had and didn’t have a major pre reqs section? Thanks!

I did PL also. We should be fine.

@smashley93
Lol…we still freak out over little things on here.

@Cayton
I don’t have any pre reqs. And I did call and they said that’s why. I was a little worried for a bit.

@Anxiety94

I doubt that it will matter unless you get admitted and tell them the change of schedule/drop or something so as long as you have those PL classes and taking them now you should be fine

@music1990

if they could focus more on myberkeleyapp than the actual uc app, it would be awesome for me since my actual uc app doesn’t look as good (all my good grades scattered all over the places lol)… but yeah we all know that’s not going to happen… =((

We’re all such helpless transfer applicants… so weak and so vulnerable like naked newborns; we have nightmares about it, we call about it… I’m just glad we’re all huddled up together, relishing through all of our insecurities as a whole.

@wintergreeen
Part of me thinks they do rely mostly on myberkeleyapp for classes and grades. If you think about it, all the information they really need is right there, and it would make it easier for them.

@Cayton
Any chance if you look your portal tomorrow, and you are accepted and being offered…30,000 dollars in financial aid you will reconsider where you’re going next fall? I know you’re tempted by cal…
