Ah, but what about others in your situation who did have pre-reqs to complete?

Ah, but what about others in your situation who did have pre-reqs to complete?

Ok, let me know if anyone thinks this is a bad sign.

I call admissions, and ask them about the major pre-req form, because I never had one to fill out. He pulls up my application. Puts me on hold. Heart palpitating He comes back, and says,“I asked my colleagues, and they all said that PAC’s majors do not need to fill out the major pre-req form.” I’m probably being neurotic, but if I had been admitted, when he pulled up my app, wouldn’t he just tell me that it wasn’t an issue? I mean, if I was accepted into the school, then obviously the form wasn’t a problem…because I was already in. Am I overthinking this?

Nahh you are wayyy overthinking. Who knows if he could even see your decision status. Plus you asked him specifically why, so he probably wanted to get a specific answer for you, not just if it was a problem or not.

@smashley93

I think he just wanted to confirm that all PACS majors do not need to fill out any major prereqs forms. So no need to worry.

Thank you so much @music1990 @ocnative I am seriously losing it. This has been the slowest week of my entire life. When I was talking to him, I thought I would be able to pick up something in his voice, but they are freaking good. At first, he was like, “If you’re admitted, you’ll do x,y, and z…” but he followed it up with, “But if you’re rejected, do x, y, and z…” DAMNIT.

I’m with @ocnative and @music1990 on this one, @smashley93. You might be overthinking this. It’s OK, though. We all do that when trying to get into our dream schools. Good luck. I hope you get in.

If Cal offered me that much money, I’d reconsider going. But it’s unlikely, lol.

It’s just that I said, “Could not completing the form affect my admissions decision?” and he responded with, “Well, if you’re accepted, email your admissions officer right away, and let them know that you didn’t receive the form. However, if you’re denied, that’s grounds for appeal, because you’ve completed so many pre-reqs.” So, after saying that, I feel like if I had been admitted, he wouldn’t have gone and checked after pulling up my app. It was like he pulled it up, saw that I was rejected, and wanted to go see if it was because of the missing form.

One of the main reasons I am wary of going to cal is because I plan to study abroad for a year and possibly double major which would put me there about 3 years. I hear that they want you out after 2 years and that would be impossible for me.

@smashley93
I bet he couldn’t even see if you’re admitted or not. He’s probably just looking at the same thing we are. You remind me of myself. Worrying that much is me-status.

@Cayton
What difference in the amount of money offered would make you reconsider a school? In my case, it’s only about $700 more with Cal a year.

@Loyshi

Berkeley would have to offer me at least a couple thousand dollars or more for me to even reconsider them. Not likely to happen, though. They’ll probably just match UCLA’s financial aid offer.

I seriously doubt the folks answering phones have access tomorrow’s info. If they gave a hint either way it would be all over every message board/blog/social media etc then they’d get slammed with calls.

So hey, we have 24.5 hrs left to dream… don’t spend it fretting:) It’s out of our hands. Lets pretend we all get to post “I GOT IN!!”

@SFpsyc
I like that mindset.

@Anxiety94 thanks, you have a caring heart. I loved your earlier post:)

General Q: Do you feel better having someone with you for Big news or do you like privacy?

I’m the latter. Having someone watch my reaction makes me more nervous. I feel better when I have control of how/when I share news.

Definitely will be alone for that moment, in case I lose my ■■■■, haha

yeah those vids of people finding out… No thank you! (but I do love watching them;)

Anyone know what time decisions come out tomorrow?

@sophiaaho
5 or later.

@SFpsyc
I don’t want anyone seeing me when I find out! I haven’t even told anyone that I find out tomorrow, because I don’t want everyone asking. If I get rejected, I want at least a day to be able to compose myself. If I get in, I’m telling people right away lol

For some reason, I am feeling totally relaxed about getting my decision tomorrow. … Probably thinking that I will be rejected right on the spot I was much more worried about getting decision from la. good luck everyone!
