I tried to fall asleep around 10pm, but now I’m wide awake with the most anxiety ever… Later today is going to be so rough.

Hmm, @music1990 makes a very, very good point,

Quit complaining, @kb242014.

@campfireweekend
I think so? I don’t know how admissions could even function properly without a wait list.

@Cayton

Ha yeah I thought of you as soon as he said that, but don’t worry I got your back

@music1990

I shall reward you for your assistance by calling up my connections at Berkeley and persuading the Berkeley gods to give your application…“special attention.” :>

@music1990 Yeah but you’re on the wait list longer so more anxiety. We’re complaining about 1 day, the wait list “wait” must blow big time

@Bigcityofdreams

Yeah I get that, but it’s not the applicant’s fault for getting into more than one school. Pretty much everyone here applied to more than one school. If the UCs wanted to start a policy where once you SIR, your other applications are withdrawn, that’s up to them. It would take a lot of communication and stuff though. But either way, you can’t blame the applicants for SIRing earliy.

@kb242014 Dude, have you heard of applicants wanting options?

lol, I don’t want to be a dick, but @kb242014 probably won’t get in to Berkeley anyway, so I don’t know what he/she’s complaining about.

I mean, with that kind of attitude, he/she’s probably not Berkeley material. It’s also worth mentioning his/her low GPA, 3.28.

Ohh dang Cayton just got real.

Every once in a while someone gets him fired up. I like that Cayton. I knew as soon as that guy called UCLA garbage he would have to say something lol

@Cayton Got HEEEEEEEEEEM!

3.28 LOL!

He’s probably a sociology major too…

@music1990 Yeah I get that. I don’t think anyone will really withdraw their application, I haven’t for any of mone. It’s always good to keep backups in case something happens and you end up not going to UCLA for whatever reason. Wait list people just know that June is their time.

@Cayton haha you mad bro? Now this threads getting lively. I think (s)he’s just nervous though and probably regrets not applying to UCLA to widen their chances.

You both should write a rap beef though. Winner gets first dibs at Cal or UCLA.

Er, why the **** would someone who got accepted into UCLA not wait on Berkeley? While the USNEWS rankings only place them like 3 apart, other rankings place them much farther(the gap between sat scores between the two are quite significant). Plus, Berkeley is in an arguably better location.If any possible putnam winner came from a UC, you would put all your money in on Berkeley. The only reason I see for accepting UCLA over UCB is if you live closer to family, got a much better financial aid offer, or just thought you would not be as competitive at UCB.

I’m not offending UCLA really. The same reasoning i’m using for UCB>UCLA is the same reasoning I would put Stanford over UCB.

And well, Harvard over stanford(though the difference becomes slight for any of the schools in the top 10)

D’aw guys… Decision time is so close, so let’s all just put our differences aside for a few more hours save the pride and passion for after the angst! Keep in mind that everyone is very nervous and vulnerable, so they might not be thinking clearly and may be saying things that aren’t very reasonable/considerate. There’s a big day ahead of us that’s no longer in our control, so brace yourselves and focus on maintaining your poise!

in a couple more hours, we will be finding out our fate in berkeley. I wish everyone best of luck in whatever path you gonna take.

@TransferUCDerp You are spot on. Except when you get to top tier schools like Harvard/Stanford (and Berkeley at a graduate level, not undergrad really), it’s kind of ridiculous to say one’s better than the other. It’s really just what school subjectively “fits” you better.

Damm. University decisions cause this much anxiety and whatnot. And there are people literally dying in Syria right now.

@kb242014 why is nerdy bad? I don’t think you’ll fit in at both Cal and UCLA are both filled with nerds. And some boys. Maybe even a geek here and there. UCLA isn’t garbage. There both excellent schools. One day when you graduate and get a job and your colleague who went to Merced is getting that promotion you wanted, you’ll realize that the UCLA /Cal debate is pointless.

@hookabrotherup were all gonna make it brah
