Hello, today is the first day we can file FAFSA so I know everyone is busy for it. However I do have a question concerning about this application. Does the order of the colleges matter? Should we list our schools in alphabetical order or in the order of how much we like each individual school(I have heard that colleges will know what other schools we are also applying ?)? Thank you!

Thank you for asking this. I want to know too. Also, should I first just send to the first choice school, and then go back in and re-sent to the others?

I think we should send it to all schools no matter what. I just want to know how important is the order. :)

From the FAFSA website:

There was another thread on this, if you care to search for it, that said that some colleges do use it to gauge interest and at some places it might be use to give you bigger or smaller merit aid. A consultant advised to do alphabetical order.

Took some searching but here’s that other thread:

Order of the college does not matter. All the colleges mentioned in the fasfa will get your data.
