The overlooked Waitlist Dilemma?

Ok, this is almost? as stressful as the applying process!

As much as I want to go to a certain ivy league school (where I was waitlisted), even if I could miraculously get off the waitlist, unfortunately it comes down to money...because if the financial aid offer isn't as compelling (and I've seen some surprisingly low offers from some other ivies and top schools), then I can't go (without feeling immeasurable guilt for placing that burden on my parents)...

So I guess that would be my ultimate? bad case scenario: I finally get into my dream school and I can't afford to go (both conscience and money-wise)

Your thoughts?

Defer for a year, work your off, save up some cash, then re-apply?

Student Loans?

Apply for helllaaaa scholarships..

Not sure what else to tell ya man.. that just sucks.

Which one? Most Ivies draw very, very few students from their wait list.

Why put yourself through all this? Tell them you don't want to be on the waitlist and move on. Choose one of the schools that has accepted you and send them a deposit. It is highly unlikely that you will be accepted from the waitlist, and, if you can't afford to go there even if you are, why even go there?

The fact is that if you chose your schools carefully, you will be quite happy at which ever school you chose to attend. A year from now, you will be wondering why you were fretting over this so. Put that Ivy behind you and move ahead!
