In the Emory Advantage program, it says that if your parents make less than 50k a year, loans are eliminated from the fin aid package. Does this mean I shouldn’t have to pay anything if my parents fall in this range?

Congratulations!!! How do I see my financial aid award?

Hey guys, in late December, I had my mind set on two schools: University of Georgia and Oxford Emory.

I hoped that at least one of these schools would accept me, and today I found out that both accepted me. I know these two are completely different schools and that I would be the one to make the final decision but I just wanted some input?

Financials:
Financial Aid hasn’t come out yet for Oxford, but I’d be able to use Emory Advantage. (Come out with no more than $15,000 in debt)
For UGA, I would have the HOPE scholarship (free tuition for in state).

Major:
If I go to UGA, I’d be majoring in science and doing PrePharm because they have a good pharmacy school.
If I go with Oxford and Emory, I’d be doing premed because there is no pharmacy school at Emory and would be pointless. Oh yeah, my mind has already been set on the health care field.

Input? Comments?

Have you seen this?

[Oxford College - Major/Minor](http://oxford.emory.edu/academics/major_minor.dot?inode=65013)

Everyone be sure to register on room bug. I need a roommate lol. I’ll pm you guys my facebook URL if u want.

I’m currently a college freshman with only 17 hours of college credit. Because I don’t have the required 30 hours needed to apply to the main campus, I am only eligible to apply as a transfer student to the Oxford campus. So I’ve been persistently looking for admissions stats regarding transfers, but I can’t find any; this is giving me a somewhat daunting perspective. I realize it’s rare for students to transfer into Oxford, but there should still be statistics based on the few who do… So exactly how difficult is it to transfer into Oxford based on rumors/experience?

Thanks

I saw a college profile for Oxford on some website a while ago and all I remember (because I laughed when I saw it) was this:

Transfer students: 1

I think it would be better for you to apply as a freshman and just transfer your credits in. I’ll have more than you when I go to Oxford. Oxford still has rolling admissions now so if I were you I’d apply STAT!

I think you can only apply for freshman admissions if you have not taken college classes after high-school graduation. =/

I have a bit of a random question…does anyone know if it is possible to get all afternoon classes at Oxford? (or Emory College - but I if I choose the Oxford-Emory College path, that’s for later :])
Thanks!

Do students who spend 2 years at oxford college and then 2 years at emory college graduate with the EXACT SAME diploma as those students who attended emory college all 4 years?

Any insight will be appreciated! Thanks!

I guess it depends on how lucky you are. The Fall schedule’s been posted though, so you might want to look at that. http://oxford.emory.edu/dotAsset/128603.pdf

At the end of two years, Oxford students earn the Associate of Arts Degree (http://oxford.emory.edu/dotAsset/126617.jpg). They then continue to Emory College and, upon graduation, received the “EXACT SAME” diploma (something like this: http://www.alexander-krider.de/ba-emory.jpg).

Who else is pre-med and thinking about doing the 4 year BS/MS in biology or chemistry?

I’m looking at the BA/MA program in Sociology. I understand that all of the 4-year BA/MA and BS/MS programs are pretty hardcore.

I’m starting to get the feeling that those of us who aren’t professional/pre-professional (pre-med/pre-law/business/nursing/pharmacy) are a small minority at Emory. lol

So just double checking…do students who spent 2 years at Oxford College and 2 years at emory college get the EXACT same diploma as those students who spent all 4 years at Emory College? Thanks.

Is it possible to participate in clubs/ activites at the main campus in Atlanta if the equivalent does not exist at Oxford college?

yes…

So just double checking…do students who spent 2 years at Oxford College and 2 years at emory college get the EXACT same diploma as those students who spent all 4 years at Emory College? Thanks.

yes…

Yes, except you get an extra diploma when you graduate from Oxford. You get two, because you’re special.
