Imagine this:
McCain running for president and Obama as his Vice, as unrealistic as this sound just think how cool it would be. Both are notorious for being bipartisan. The country wants people in office that will unite and get stuff done. It would also set up Obama up for president in 2016. I know it will never happen; but it would be great if it did.

The only chance I see of that happening is a catastrophic schism in the GOP causes McCain to bail ranks.

I never thought of that but that would be a wonderful idea. It would draw both voting groups together and once in office it would reduce the finger pointing.

your right though it will never ever happen. the dems would be butt hurt if Obama went to republican side. and being an independent running for prez. is impossible.

That would be the best thing for the whole country.

Mc Cain having to cowtow to the same people that smeared him his last go round have made me lose some faith in John. I would have voted for him last time. However, watching him stand with George on things he knows are wrong has taken away from the middle of the road approach that made him appealing to so many who aren't in lockstep with the far left or right.

It sucks
Middle of the road doesn’t win primaries but it dose win elections.

He is probably appealing to the base for the primaries but once he gets the nom he will be his true self the moderate side will come out.

Obama will probably do the same if he runs.

I don't have a problem with independents, but McCain isn't one. He is hardly better than Bush especially with Iraq/foreign policy and religion. I wouldn't vote for any Republican right now anyway.

Lieberman is more of an example of an independent because he is at least liberal on domestic/social issues, but I don't agree with him on Iraq either.

"That would be the best thing for the whole country"

I'm sorry - mo way.

McCain is just too wishy-washy, and Obama is way too liberal and inexperienced

It would never happen.

But I do like Obama, and I think that he can rise up to any challenge. So don't be dissing him.

I'm not dissing - simply offering:

an opinion "way too liberal" and

fa act "inexperienced." He's only been a Senator for less than 2 years.

Anyway, all Senators think they should be president, which makes them WAY too pompous and arrogant. That's why we haven't elected a sitting US Senator President in almost 50 years

Why would you think that Obama is way too liberal when many people consider him to be one of the most conservative democrats?

Obama is MY senator. :)

Obama is half white, a fact many people don't publicize or fail to realize his white side.

Would he blend in at a KKK meeting? No. Therefore, he's black in the American sense.
