The Petroleum Institute in Abu Dhabi?

Hey everybody!

So here's the deal, I'm currently studying chemical engineering at Northeastern University in Boston, but recently heard about the petroleum institute in Abu dhabi. I have no knowledge of how well reputed this college is but it sounds very promising even though it's fairly new. I would to know enough information about it to decide whether it's smart to transfer or not. I also heard that they give you a job straight after in one of the petroleum companies garunteed after graduation.

So does anyone know anything about this institution?

Thanks!

I know alot about this instution since my brother was studying there .
Look it’s a great college , very competitive , top students in the country usually go there .
I don’t know if you know this but it’s completely free , no tutuion fees . Plus you don’t have to worry about anything there , in-campus staying is free , 3 meals a day also free , they wash your clothes once a week for free , they give you health insurance for free , and if in case you need glasses you will get one once a year for free (( not sun glasses though :stuck_out_tongue: ))
About the job , honestly they do say that job is guranteed , but when my brother got into there he discovered that no it isn’t guranteed . It’s guranteed for UAE nationals only . However , they have taken SOME non UAE nationals to work for them . So no one knows , work hard and stand out and maybe they will take you to eork for them .

By the way my brother transfered from there, not because it’s not good , but there was an issue (( personal stuff )) so he had to transfer .

Feel free to ask any further questions ;)

Also i forgot to say something .
My brother’s friend was studying with him in the petrolium institute , he graduated and they sent him to Germany so that he continues his Masters and Phd for free also , currently he’s in Germany completing his Masters degree (( he’s not UAE national BTW )) , they are paying him everything plus they are giving him a salary for personal expensis . But you have to stand out and show that you deserve it so that they send you to complete your Masters.

IS it also free for international students?

As far as I know , it’s completely free for everyone. But Contact admissions just to be sure. Cuz I honestly don’t know about tha admission process for internationals.

what is the situation for international students applying for the masters program? i know that there is a fellowship program that covers all school-related expenses but is there a salary??
also, what happens after graduation? i understand why the institute gives priority to UAE nationals but is there a decent chance of getting a job after graduation for internationals?

Thanks.

Hey, i wanted to know if the students are provided with laptops??

Right now I’am doing first semester in BS in Industrial Engineering in a university in the UAE (Mechanical and Industrial engg, first 2 semesters are the same).

Now, after an year can I transfer to PI, Abu Dhabi?

I’m not a UAE national. So for transfer students what are the criteria?
