The (Predicted) REA Decisions Date Info Thread

hey guys!

RELAX. at this point, there’s nothing you can do to change the decision, so drink some tea, do some yoga, whatever you do to calm your nerves. just calm down.

That said, i was in your position last year so i know exactly what you’re going through. really. so really, go outside and yell at the top of your lungs for a whole minute. no inhibitions. not only will it feel AWESOME, but it will be good practice for the primal scream during dead weeks next year!

i’m a freshman at stanford right now, so i hope to see a lot of you next year! best of luck to all of you!

i’ll tell you this much. they like fridays. last year the RD decisions came out the friday before the published date, and i can’t confirm, but i’ve heard that the same happened for REA. so thats like…TOMORROW yikes!

anyway, i just thought i would stop by and say hi and toss in my two cents. because i know how stressful this week is, and how anxious you all are. let me know if you have any questions!

i kinda wish i had the crazed refresh computer screen-locked experience last year.
as of friday dec 11 morning, i didn’t hear anything from admissions, so i decided to take a nap (when i missed the announcement that they were releasing that day). so i woke up and anticlimacticly (is that a word?) saw my decision

@ NJDS

I hope I go the same way
Sounds a great way to get a decision. Really! You take a nap and boom! The decision is in front of you!

Where (URL) on the Stanford website will it say (at 11:00) if the scores are released tomorrow?

[Undergraduate Admission : Stanford University](<a href=“Page Not Found : Stanford University”>http://admissions.stanford.edu/)

Oh at 11 it says if it’s tomorrow or not?

Somebody said that the post goes up at 11 AM EST (which is 8 AM PST… presumably when the office opens), but I don’t know how true that is. It seems plausible, but the posts from past years don’t have times listed for when they were posted.

if it’s referring to my post, i meant Friday December 11th, in the morning not 11AM

No, somebody said 11 AM on the discussion thread and then somebody else said it in #24. A lot of people seem to have picked it up.

do you really think it’s true though?
:expressionless: stressed.

If you read the posts earlier today on the discussions thread, several people called the admissions office and were told to watch the website tomorrow for breaking news.

So I think it’s safe to say that tomorrow is D-Day! Or, well, as safe as it can get.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

enough said.

firefox can’t load [Undergraduate Admission : Stanford University](<a href=“Page Not Found : Stanford University”>http://admission.stanford.edu/) for me, but all other websites and parts of stanford’s website works. perhaps they’re uploading decisions??

Nah, I’m using Safari and the page works fine. Sorry to disappoint.

Aw, I got so excited haha

stanford’s website says that we will receive our results BY the 15th. so they would probably release them earlier to get them all out by the 15th. and according to everyones predictions, that would be this friday.

yeah, theres like a 99 percent chance its going to be tomorrow (thats how it happened last year for both REA and ED.

you’ll get an announcement on the admissions website saying ‘we’ve released decisions 5 days early!’

then you’ll get the email at like 3:00 Pacific time. at least thats how it worked ED, not sure if REA is by email too…

Good luck everyone! hope you all get in, but if not, it’s probably for the better! for you, that is…that sounds a little harsh if you read it the wrong way.

a little anecdote to leave off with…stanford wasn’t my first choice. i was as much in love with a different school (i won’t say which), as you are with stanford. early decision deferral/rejection, and everything. but now i’m here (my close second choice) and retrospectively, i think i would’ve been making a horrible choice by going to that other school.

these things have a way of working themselves out. you’ll be really happy wherever you end up, so it’s not the end of the world if you don’t get in.

hope to see you all next year!

Officially today!
[Admission News : Stanford University](<a href=“Page Not Found : Stanford University”>Page Not Found : Stanford University)

I literally freaked out a little when I saw that announcement. I can’t believe I’m going to know my fate in less than 6 hours.

AHHHHHHH AHHHHHHH AHHHHHHH AHHHHHH AHHHHHH AHHHHHHH AHHHHH AHHHHH AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I wanted to believe that it was coming out today, but OMG IT REALLY IS!!!
oh shoot…I’m scared now. O_O
