The Prediction List

with regards to this "prediction list" - some of you guys are wayyy off. You all seem to be forgetting something

Columbia's 25%-75% SAT range for acceptance is 1350-1510, which means that 50% of the students at columbia have a score which is somewhere in that range, and most likely pervasive throughout, rather than all leaning towards the higher. This also means that 25% of students have lower than a 1350. Furthermore, the avg. GPA is only a mere 3.79 unweighted, which you all seem to have forgotten. None of you guys know what you're talking about, saying that these kids with ridiculous EC's, GPA's, and SAT's will get rejected. The only kids who will get rejected ED are the kids with the 1290's and the 3.0's that are applying ED as a luckshot, which is sadly a good chunk of the applicant pool. Everyone who stands a shot will get deferred, if not accepted.

also, the only thing that my columbia interviewer told me about what columbia looks for in a student is that they actually have a life outside of school and work, which clearly none of you have

Redge124, you are not welcome here. Your inflammatory words are at once both hurtful and false.

ok...that kinda relieved me...hopefully i'll get accepted.....and yes, i DO have life outside of school...

haha how are my words false?

some of you are cool in my book, but some of you, like the guy who was saying half of the people on the prediction list will get rejected Ed, are not

that first post about people not having lives outside of school wasnt a direct attack at any of you in particular, just a general remark - so if you take it personally, then it probably does bear some significance deep inside you, and you probably wanna take that up with yourself

if you have no life in high school, and are applying to columbia to try to gain some sort of new social life, you're applying to the wrong school. Columbia is in the friggin city, so things probably wont get anymore shallow

try MIT

However, ED only accepts 28%ish of the students who apply, atleast to CC. Its not inaccurate to say that a majority of the people who apply will be rejected. The acceptance rate ED is probably significantly higher for members on this board, since we are all (well, most of us) overwhelmingly qualified for Columbia ED.

redge124 is right, i salute and support his opinion 100%

"none of you have" => obviously, this remark is not directed at any ONE of us but ALL of us.

true, ED at columbia rejects a whoppin 45% of its applicants, which is a disturbing number - but basically all of those who are rejected ED would never be considered for Columbia in the least bit

if you feel you are qualified, you will not get rejected

and if you feel as though you are qualified, and you do get rejected, you should think long and hard about the other colleges to which you are applying

Columbia kicks asssss - good luck to you all

also, do we get an e-mail acceptance/deferral/denial earlier than the actual letter?

"none of you have" was in response to the creators of the inflammatory posts that i had previously just read, and to which i was responding to

let's all just calmmmmm down and not jump to conclusions haha

i think so....

"true, ED at columbia rejects a whoppin 45% of its applicants, which is a disturbing number - but basically all of those who are rejected ED would never be considered for Columbia in the least bit
if you feel you are qualified, you will not get rejected
and if you feel as though you are qualified, and you do get rejected, you should think long and hard about the other colleges to which you are applying" - hmmmm.. are you sure? and how do you KNOW that you are qualified... i'm sure there are QUALIFIED people that get rejected flat out.. how do u explain the random admissions.

"i hate all of you!!다 저주할꺼야!!"- hahahahaha jskim u crack me up!.. hahaahaha
