What Princeton Review had to say about Geneseo…

"SUNY Geneseo offers a high-quality liberal arts education and the kind of classic college experience you’d expect at a ritzy private school—at a public-school price. This school bills itself as the Honors College of the SUNY system. If you come here expecting state-school stereotypes, you will be confounded. It’s small. The campus is lovely. The emphasis is squarely on teaching undergraduates. There’s not a single teaching assistant to be found here. Opportunities to study abroad are copious. There’s a strong undergraduate research program in which some 40 percent of the students participate. About 40 percent of the students here complete an internship before graduating. Also, students in nearly every major can participate in a capstone experience during their senior year. Examples include a thesis, an in-depth seminar, an exhibit, or a research project.

Geneseo’s location in a small, historic town in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York means that students must create their own entertainment and fun. Clubs and organizations are extremely active, and there are always events to attend at little or no cost. Intercollegiate hockey games and intramurals are also big, as is the campus party scene. The relatively bright lights of Rochester are less than an hour away in the event that cabin fever strikes."
