<p>Hello,</p>

<p>Could someone explain, please , precisely, the process I need to go through during my application to Columbia?</p>

<p>I am 19, a foreign student, attended the School of Notre Dame in my country, and because of my weak English, ended up in a Community College.</p>

<p>My resume has one page and a half only of extracurricular activities, plus I was responsible for many projects and campaigns in my country/school.</p>

<p>I have no job experience but my resume is quite heavy with 4 entire pages.</p>

<p>Currently, I am a Senator in the SGA, part of clubs and about to found one. </p>

<p>I don't have SAT and ACT scores. My community college - as for as I know - didn't require them. If I took, it was while I was taking my first exams to see whether I would be required to have some prerequisite courses.</p>

<p>I am a Business Adm. student. Could I transfer having this as a major?</p>

<p>If so, what will I have to go through?</p>

<p>How's the process of financial aid?
Will I be required to take some exam as part of my application?
I know I must do an essay. Is it something I will write at home and send with my application or set an appointment somewhere?
I checked online they ask the grades of the year I am applying. But, will they ask for my transcript in order to see my performance during my freshman year? ( I believe so)
I read they said, "if you didn't take the SAT or ACT, you don't need to take it. " It was quite confusing to me, because at the same paragraph they said it would be required.</p>

<p>If nobody has the answer about SAT or ACT, I will quote it here, copy and past from the Columbia website and someone interpret this for me ^^ cuz I couldn't comprehend.</p>

<p>I have little knowledge about it. Could you give me some detailed info?</p>

<p>I am sorry but I have no other word to use: ridiculous. Your behavior is very ridiculous. As I said, I went to their website. As anyone who reads the steps online, being able to, alone, respond to it is seldom. The majority of those interested have knowledge either from school - being counselours, advisors or students - as you or anyone reading it. Expecting me, as a foreign student, to understand their policy alone is ridiculous. But finally I talked to someone today, personally, who explained everything to me. To finalize, try being less arrogant because for any person who has the answers, assisting is the main objective of this forum.
By the way, I am not an International student. You should have read more carefully what I wrote. You lack the ability of interpretation.</p>

<p>I am not saying everyone is supposed to come here and assist the “needy” as you placed.
I am just saying that if you are not willing to help, don’t come here and display such behavior.
But this is not for you, the ridiculous behavior parted from the person to whom I wrote the message.</p>

<p>You didn’t write this “message” to anyone. This is an open thread, and anyone can respond to it. Some people may not have the time to hash out a long description of the application process but at least Poster #2 took the time to link you to the website.</p>

<p>@OP I didn’t mean to offend you, I was in the middle of a lecture and jotting notes, I didn’t have time to make a long paragraph of advice. So I just linked you directly to the google search with all the possible options to answer your questions fully. The site answers just about everything. I didn’t mean to offend and I think you over did it…lol lack of interpretation? You should really take time to process what happens before you jump to conclusions. But anyways, I was glad to assist you and like sd6 and md stated, people are busy and I do my best to help out here.</p>

<p>I understand now, but this kind of “help” might sound as an offense when it says “it’s not so hard, right” or something like that. It almost sounds as if you believe I haven’t done enough research and my questions were ridiculous to have someone responding to it when I could find on Google.
But yes, I have done several researches…but the biggest help I’ve ever had came from the person I spoke with, personally, today :)</p>

<p>@OP lol I didn’t notice the “it’s not that hard” thing. xD I had to click and look at what you were talking about, but I see others use it all the time for a fast link thing; so I tried it out. I think its just a good humor thing. I’m applying for Columbia as well. :slight_smile: i’ve been stuffed with reading essays for others.</p>

<p>Nice!! Will you be applying to the undergraduate program?
I think I’ll end up in the general studies program. People say it’s very rare to be accepted as an undergraduate since I’ll be a transfer student.</p>

<p>@OP by the time I get out of HS i’ll have 60 credits which is an associates degree which means i’ll be a transfer to, but i’ve contacted admissions and shot them an email about it. I really want to have the undergrad experience and do the core.</p>
