the rice "box" on common app?

Early Decision deadline is a week from now and now I am finishing up my application...

I have heard about the famous Rice "Box" before,

but I could not find anything about it on the Rice supplement page on common app except:

"If you are completing the Signature portion online, please upload a two-dimensional, scannable image of something that appeals to you".

Is this Rice "Box"? But I don't see anything that talks about box...

So basically we just put a picture that appeals to me on a document and upload it?

I checked the paper application on Rice webpage and it had a specific box image.

Do I need to draw a box on my document so that my image will be in the same size as I would put in the box on paper form? HELP!

You’re exactly right! Just put your picture in a word document and upload it, no need to draw a box of a certain size or anything.

Good luck!

I have a question as well. Could I use an image I found online or stuff I have in my house (a video game, for example)?

My impression was that we could just use any image we wanted. I’m not sure why they put 2-D but probably no videos or something like that. Just one image.

Just put something that appeals to you. Don’t put grains of rice. You might think it’s clever but admissions officers hate it
