The right GPA for an Internship?

Hey guys,
I'm a rising junior CS major with a general business minor.

So next summer I'll be a rising senior, and I want to know what a fair GPA is to expect to be competitive for internships at companies like Vanguard and other, maybe even smaller, financial or investment companies.

My freshmen year GPA was horrible. ~2.89.
Sophomore year was around a 3.5, which puts my cumulative at a 3.11 right now.
This summer I'll have 16 credits that will help boost my gpa, and I expect to
get ~3.24 by the time I apply for internships.

I know there is no sure GPA that will land an internship, and the cutoff is usually a 3.0,
but I'd appreciate input. It'd be really helpful if anyone could list their/or someone they know's GPA, Major, and where they got an internship. I know there are a lot of other factors that come into play, but it be awesome if we had a thread just filled with this. I remember there was one like this for college admission that was really helpful a few years back.

Thanks

Generally speaking 3.0 is the cutoff GPA and the higher the GPA the better. Depending on the school and the general business climate, 3.25 to 3.5 might be the minimum GPA that can get you an interview. Once you get an interview, other parts of your qualification and how well you interview will dictate whether you land an internship or not.
