The Schedule Conflicts Thread

I knew I would get one.

Counselor called and said Journalism and Japanese are at the same time so I either had to:

Drop Japanese for Journalism

Drop Journalism for Japanese and add AP Lit.

I chose #2 -_-

I had that too!!

Either I:

Drop AP Calc for physics

Don’t drop AP Calc and instead take online AP chem.

I picked 2

LOL I have that dilemma every year. I was supposed to take web programming in 8th grade but my school hasn’t let me take it yet due to schedule conflicts.

My school is obsessed with its 100% graduation rate and to maintain it, designed a schedule that favors people who don’t take any AP classes (so that if they fail, they can retake the class during the school year without having to attend summer school or get held back a grade). I have schedule conflicts all the time because my APs are all schedule to be during the same period and I can’t choose my own electives because of the conflicts as well. xD

This is a slightly complicated situation: I requested to take AP Bio in place of an elective, but there was a scheduling conflict with 3 other classes I’m taking (H Precalc, H Western Civ, H Chem). These three classes take up all the blocks in which AP Bio is offered. So my choices are:

self-study precalc this summer (to get out of Honors precalc) so that I can take AP Bio and AP Calc next year (no elective)

stay with my current schedule (meaning no APs :() and also take band (to get my VPA elective requirement done)

I will certainly choose option 1, unless for some reason yet another scheduling conflict comes up (or if my school won’t let me skip precalc for some reason)

Ugh I kinds needed this thread.

Drop apish for ap calc. Yes, my school only offers one of each class, conveniantly both during 6th period.
Drop band for ap gov. (Because I need some social studies)
drop medical biotechnology/forensics for basically anything else. 3 sciences are too overwhelming for someone who has no interest in a science profession. Hopefully I’ll be able to take debate without dropping anything else.

i didn’t have any this year YAY! well unless not having more periods to take more classes counts as a conlfing

I hate schedule conlfings!

This year APUSH and AP Lang were both conflicts with the class periods that ASL II is offered, so I chose to take AP Lang and add AP Bio in place of my non AP science (anatomy) to keep it as rigorous as it would’ve been with APUSH

I had to pick two out of the three. Ap US History, AP Calc, & ASB. I picked ap calc & asb… I hate that I’m taking regular us history!!! Gosh. I feel out of place  I miss my ap classmates :’(

I actually have no schedule conflicts this year. This is a first. (and it’s my senior year)

Take AP Chem or Spanish IV.
I chose chemistry.

Take creative writing or precalculus.
I chose precalc.

Finalized schedule:

APUSH

AP Lang & Comp

Computer Repair - Hardware/Software

AP Chem

Office Apps

PreCalc

Chorus

AP Chem

I was supposed to take AP Stats along with IB Math HL, AP Calc AB, AP Eng Lit, AP Macro/US Gov,AP Physics B. It got replaced by AVID.

I told my counselor and she told to choose between Physics and Stats. I chose Physics.

Apparently the only section of AP Calc BC and the only section of AP Spanish 5 are scheduled at the same time, a lot of my friends were screwed over. But I’m not taking either, yolo

I haven’t heard any for me, but I wouldn’t be surprised. My senior class only has about 150 students and I am taking 4 AP classes this year.
