The Science Thread for ACT December 2009

What did it ask about in the patient 9 pretreated question in the mosquito passage?

yea it was Y which was the third option which was experiment 3 in which the average period was overall higher

for teh argument…there had to have been an ocean there at one time

i for one think that this science test should get fcked in the butt really hard

yea ocean had to exist was correct, also did you get scientist 1 was talking about higher pressure because he talked about below 100m?

nah College I said 2

I wanted to say 1 but they both said pressure and it only makes sense that more depth is more pressure

no, it was scientist 2 that said higher pressure if i remember correctly… could be wrong

nah I think Bear and I are right…sorry College

I put scientist 2

Does everyone agree that the distance question involving the syringe thingy with NO and O2 was increase , then decrease?

aagh i meant scientist 2 (got them confused -_-), sorry yes scientist 2 because of 100mi right?

yeh mabs…it makes sense the other gas was added so it increased and then they reacted so the total number of moles of gas decresases so volume decreases

yeah College

what about the pendulum question more distance higher moment of inertia?

@college

I believe it was 100 km but yes

The question regarding which student was correct said each student chose a type that had the highest frequency i think, and which was correct. SO you had to look at the table and see how long the period value was and whichever was the smallest had the greatest frequency. The question may have been asking something else but thats what i got out of t.

me too Collins

Im pretty sure it asked about longest period…and crap i said increase, increase but yea its definitely increase, decrease

The question as i read it required more than data analysis. You had to know what the value represented, which wasn’t frequency. So that’s why i think it was A.) Student W who said the solid sphere.

If it said longest period, then i am mistaken, but i for some reason feel that i read frequency.

My god, this section was a b****! The time constraint really gets me. The first 3 sections in it were quite easy, but I took up too much time and didn’t realize I had 5 minutes left for the last 15 questions and 2 sections >.> Fail.

collins is right period is inversely proportional to frequency…but idr if it was asking for which had highest freq or lowest

can someone answer my pendulum question!!!
