i believe it was Pt Ca Mg
-i just know it was the furthest line to the right (Pt?) then the next furthest (Ca?) and then it skipped one (Hg?) and then the last line did not actually hit the point on the graph– it was “off the charts” but you could tell it was going to be higher than the rest– and that one was Mg i think

OMG I skipped like all of those! So I left out more than 4…
■■■, wow… those questions made absolutely no sense at all.

also, can anyone list (to the best of their memory) any of the answers to the inertia/pendulum questions?

@vcooper
was that the order they appeared in (from left to right) on the chart?

Nah, the order was Pt, Mg, Ca. That’s the order they were in (right to left).

^mabsjenbu123,

I think that the inertia/pendulum section was the worst, but maybe that’s just me (I have no physics base whatsoever)

@future

was Ca, Mg, Pt even an answer choice (i.e. left to right)?

Nope it was Pt, Mg, Ca - from right to left - that was the answer (that I got, anyway - I could have been wrong. I usually am when it comes to the bloody science section)

@mabs- i cannot remember for sure what order the actual elements were in, but i am almost sure that the correct answer was the option that listed them from right to left:
example:

l
l
l
l
l_______________
-----A–B–C–D----

The order for this would have been D, C, A because element in B’s place was not included in the choices.

ok

can u explain how u got that answer? (ur reasoning) I had no idea how to get it.

well it said at a certain X value, list the A, C, and D in increasing order.
Since each graph had a positive and equal slope (parallel lines going up and to the right) the D element’s line was the lowest at that value, the C line was right above it, and the A would have been further above that if the graph’s window displayed it. To make it a little easier to understand, take your calc and graph this:
Y1=2x-10 --this is D
Y2=2x-7 --this is C
Y3=2x-4 --this is A

set your window to xmin=0 xmax=10 ymin=0 ymax=10
then trace at 6 or something and you will see that the D value is lowest, then the C value, then the A value will be the highest

Thanks a bunch vcooper!

Does anyone remember what letter choice they put for the very last question?

np dude - for the petroleum question about rising to the top was the answer less dense fluid or less dense solid?

@vcooper

Were solid and fluid both answer choices?

I think logically it should be less dense fluid - I hope I put that

I believe the answer was less dense fluid. Because being less dense is the only way that the oil could get to the top. And i don’t think it become solid until it forms sediment at a higher level.

was “less dense solid” even an answer choice?

the choices were: The petroleum migrated up because it was:
-a lower density fluid
-a higher density fluid
-a lower density solid
-a higher density solid

it was definitely less dense liquid.

for that passage did anyone else get something like greater than 70 or something?

can someone please explain the inertial question with the long and short rope or whatever? and what was the answer

i put that the longer one (A) had a higher inertial bc its longer, but after reading through the passage something made me put B bc its shorter

@silence

Do u remember what question # that was? (like was that the very last question on the test?)
