Could you be a little more specific?

Could you be a little more specific?

just won best picture of the year at the golden globes.
that says a lot.

Wow this is weird… I saw The Social Network in theaters as well and I just finished watching it the second time today at home too… not even kidding o.O

The movie is phenomenal by the way. :)

I have found that I disagree with CCers views when it comes to movies. I did not find Toy Story 3 to be that great, and I don’t think The Social Network is as good as you guys are making it sound.

It was certainly a good movie, but not that great.

Also, I read that the majority of the information in the movie was represented poorly or false.

Inorite. I started to fall asleep during Inception.

“Let’s all worry about going into limbo for half the movie! If we do, we will never come out!”

Multiple people go into limbo and come out just fine

Confused audience members, who want to feel deep and psychological, applaud the movie.

The REAL Social Network:

Location: Apartment in California

* Mark is huddled around his computer with a few other FB coders. They are staring at the code *

Mark: Facebook is ready to go online. Launch it.

Coder 1: Launching Facebook… NOW! (Presses a button)

(On Screen): Code Compiling… Segmentation Fault (core dumped)

* Collective groan from all the members. *

Mark: I don’t see what’s wrong with it.

Coder 2: I don’t either.

Coder 3: Maybe something we did before is messing with it?

Mark: I’m not so sure… ugh this is going to be a long night. Who’s going to pick up the Dominos?

Coder 1: I think I’m supposed to.

Mark: Don’t forget to tell them to include the 2 liter Sprite.

^ It’s a little bit more dramatic than that.

To hijack here, what do you guys think will be the 10 films nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars?

I’m thinking Social Network, King’s Speech, True Grit, The Fighter, The Kids Are All Right, Toy Story 3, Black Swan, 127 Hours, Inception and The Company Men. I would also love to see Barney’s Version get nominated. Any other thoughts?

^I’m not so sure about The Kids Are All Right, but the rest (besides The Company Men - haven’t seen it) I can agree with.

Best Picture, Director, Screenplay - The Social Network, with The King’s Speech being a close runner-up for all of them.

Best Actor - Colin Firth
Best Actress - Portman

Best Score - Social Network vs Inception - probably The Social Network

Nominees should be about the same as Golden Globes, IMO.
