<p>Anyone planning to sign up? </p>

<p>I did the SOP like 2 weeks ago I believe and it was an awesome experience. You get paired up with a current FRESHMAN and live in the dorms with him/her and basically shadow what they usually do daily. I got to eat at the ME commons, experience a class, walk around campus, go to the ARC (AntEater Recreation Center which is a HUGE gym like the size of 4 LA Fitness’ in 1 building) and worked out, participated in MiddleEarths dodgeball tournament at the basketball courts (good fun), play in the game room, go to yogurt land at midnight with my host and his friends. </p>
<p>Basically if you even play to attend UCI, attending the SOP is vital and will help to see if you can see yourself there, even if it is a safety school for you or not. If you want my 2 cents, I loved it…</p>

<p>I really want to sign up but I don’t know if I can afford to miss a couple days of school. Darn! I think I better ask my GC for her 2 cents too.</p>
<p>DO IT!!! although it’s only a day and a half, it’s an amazing experience. Just see it as a mini-SOP(Student-parent Orientation Program: UCI’s orientation), and that’s if you do intend on attending UCI or if it’s a “safety” even though it shouldn’t since UCI is the bomb! I was a host last week and I’m happy with the outcome! I did my best in showing my guest around and i’m sure he absolutely enjoyed it :). Akin to EndPhase, I took my guest to my hall in ME, brought him to my HumCore discussion class, introduced him to almost everyonev in my hall, brought him to Pippin(he had 2 servings of dinner haha), let him watch my hall’s domination in the Dodgeball semi-finals(which we won against Gondolin lol) and unfortunately lost against Whis Wood 
, but he still had fun :D. We then went to the ARC and he worked out. The same night, we hung out in my friend’s/hallmate’s room and had many laughs. The next day and final day, I took him to my hallmate’s chem lecture, then i brought him to my psych lecture, then we quickly went to the Science Library and he was amazed at what he saw :O. Lastly, I dropped him off at the Student Center where I picked him up the day before and said goodbye :(. It was quite an experience! can’t wait for my next guest X)</p>

<p>This sounds like a really cool program. Thanks for bringing it up. I was accepted to UCI, but I didn’t even know about this yet. I’ll definitely look into it. :)</p>
