Rejection received in Maryland earlier this week.

does anyone know how long the waitlist is? On the letter it said it was “short”. but I really don’t know what that means. Do a lot of people usually make it in off the waitlist?

OneToughMommy~I am soooo sorry to hear that :(

hoyadad~congrats!

Has anyone admitted to the Theatre School at DePaul (actor) actually received written notification yet? My D hasn’t received anything. I don’t have the access info to campus connect and don’t want to ask her for it in case it’s bad news b/c she has a show opening tonight. If you answer yes, please indicate what part of the country you live in. Thanks for helping the nervous Mom!

I just got my letter of acceptance to the Theatre School at DePaul (BFA Acting). It comes in a big yellow packet the says “Welcome-You have been admitted to DePaul”

Sorry. I live in CT

@mcal101… Thank you! I was able to find the DePaul Campus Connect info and it looks as if she’s admitted. But I’ll believe it when the letter arrives; hopefully today b/c we are closer to Chicago than CT. Congrats to you on your acceptance! Does the letter say anything about an admitted student event? My D has visited DePaul twice but I think she would like to meet potential classmates. Thanks again.

Our letter came today in GA. lookslikeNYC the event is April 15 & 16. The students can visit, attend a class, and stay overnight. Congrats on your D acceptance.

Thanks hoyadad. It’s official! Waiting for a couple more…then decisions, decisions!

Still waiting for D’s letter, she auditioned for the acting major. She was admitted to NIU’s theater BFA program and they need a commitment by April 1. De Paul is D’s first choice so she is driving me crazy with the nerves.

dramaqueendad, I don’t think that any college can demand an answer by April 1. The National Reply Date is May 1. Your daughter has rights under NACAC. Check it out.

Call NIU today and tell them you need more time because you are waiting for other schools to send their decisions. That’s what we did and told them we would let them know as soon as we could. We were told that the April 1st date was a misprint and should have been April 22nd. That’s still not May 1st.

Thanks for the advice. I will call. I do want this all to be over soon. I do like the difference in cost between NIU and De Paul, even though I am a De Paul alumni.

We did hear from De Paul. She was not accepted int the program so now the decision comes down to Ball St. BA program, NIU BFA program, or Cornish BFA program.
