Top 25 Colleges Ranked By Recruiters - WSJ.com

Very interesting.

Really, as much as I don’t like U of M… I’m not sure how I can trust a rating system that puts ASU over UMich.

That list is based entirely off of how many companies show up to recruit at a school. Of course 500 companies aren’t going to recruit at a school with a graduating class of 400…

Under how majors match up for MIT:

Engineering (8).

That says enough.

Glad to see that recruiters think MIT is overrated along with Private schools.

The fact that you go to Penn State explains why you feel the need to repeatedly post this…

UCLA: Finance (7)

the fact that UCLA does not have an undergraduate finance major makes me wonder if this includes business schools.

if so, the ranking makes slightly more sense. actually, where’s wharton? no it doesn’t.

Exactly. Arizona State is not even a Top 100 school, but it provides higher education for a whole region of the country along with UA with the largest student body in the nation.

I never understand these random rankings.

Is anyone actually going to choose Penn State over Harvard because recruiters rank it higher?

I’ll stick to the U.S. News ranking of national universities.

The point is that even if you do choose to go to a big school that isn’t as reputable as some other schools, you will have ample opportunities to find a job.

^^ha I think it’s funny that you put down these ratings and then “trust” US news ratings. Those are just as biased and skewed as most of the other ratings out there.

^ They really aren’t. Maybe there are some disagreements with certain parts of their formula and whatever, but on the whole they are a strong indicator and most people use them very successfully.

And… it came from the WSJ.

I’m disappointed, Rupert.

Sorry you didn’t make the list brah.

State Schools 1
Ivy Leage 0

“Recruiters say graduates of top public universities are often among the most prepared and well-rounded academically, and companies have found they fit well into their corporate cultures and over time have the best track record in their firms.”
