i was placed in the towers but i reeaaaallly wanted west. am i screwed on a social aspect?

No… Both are great for freshman. You will be closer to your classes, and will have no problem meeting people!

West will have more of the bro type guys and biddie type girls (so more of the traditional college people in my experience). Warren will not be as much like that and will have more international kids that usually aren’t into the “social aspect”… Towers is half freshman/ half sophomores and the bad thing about towers is you won’t meet as many people of the opposite sex if that is your intention. Honestly if you want the typical college experience I would room swap.

I don’t think the above descriptions are that accurate for Warren and the Towers.

Warren has a ton of people interested in meeting others, although yes there tend to be more international students. There are still a ton of social opportunities.

The Towers is a smaller dorm that has both freshman and sophomores as mentioned. However there are still plenty of opportunities to meet people, the dorm is just a little quieter. However it is closer to central campus.

However, you can’t swap until you get to BU anyway, so give it a chance when you arrive. If you want to switch, it’s a pretty easy process. West or Warren are also great places :)

Hey everyone!
I am an International student in my freshman year and have been assigned a room at The Towers West. I wanted Warren or West. All my acquaintances are in Warren.

I don’t have much idea about life at The Towers.

Although I would love to make new friends but I would rather prefer a quite and peaceful place. This is something which is keeping me away from a room swap to Warren.

I haven’t been able to find much people at The Towers. I am using FB as a means of communication. The page for Warren is flooding with people whereas there are very few members at The Towers page. Can anyone tell me about life at The Towers?

Also, the Sophomore students. How do they respond towards freshman?

Thank You

You will still meet people in the Towers. I lived there one summer; it was okay. It’s just on a smaller scale than Warren and West, which may be better for someone who prefers a little bit of a quieter environment. With that said, if you have your heart set on West campus, call BU and see if you can switch or get on a wait list or something. There could be someone who was assigned to West and not want to be that far his or her classes or wants to switch for whatever reason.

I hope the sophomores are okay with freshmen–my freshman D was put in the SED brownstone with two sophomore roommates! She actually wanted Warren, but I think she’ll appreciate the quiet of the brownstone after a couple of days.

One nice thing about the Towers is being so close to Marciano commons, which appears to be an awesome dining hall (I didn’t eat there, but my D and her dad did). That’ll be your main eating place. Since you’ll be taking core courses, you’re likely to meet a lot of other freshmen there–at least, that’s what I’m telling my daughter.
