Any 2015-16 year students have any comments /recommendations regarding Freshman housing? Thanks!

Looking through all the housing options at Boston University is a bit overwhelming at first. Any comments/recommendations for incoming freshman to consider when selecting would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Your choices of freshmen dorms are Warren Towers, Towers, and West. Some freshmen will live in HoJo but I highly suggest picking out of these three. Warren Towers is huge and is on East campus and near most of your classes. If you’re in CFA, or SHA, you will want to live in West campus since that’s where those schools are. Everything else will be on East campus. You’ll meet tons of freshmen at Warren and there’s a dining hall (but it’s not that great). Keep your door opened and you’ll make friends. However it gets rowdy and loud.

If you still want to stay in East campus but want a quieter option, I would suggest Towers. Towers is closer to Questrom, but still close to East campus. It’s an older dorm but I really like Towers compared to my experience at Warren. Very nice and chill. Also Towers is closest to the best dining hall on campus - Marciano Commons (or what we call Bay State).

Finally, West is right by Fitrec and by the West dining hall. The West dining hall is really good. A lot of athletes and party people (if you like parties). I think more of the rooms are renovated at West. However it’s a 15 minute walk to East or you take the BU Shuttle.

I hope that this helps!

I lived in Towers my first year, and I personally think that I made the wrong choice. Warren is the most central to campus. Two of the worst things about Towers is that 1. It is really far from everything, and 2. The dining hall is about a block away, and when it’s snowing, really hot, or raining, that isn’t so pleasant. There are also a few shops right under Warren, which are super handy when you don’t want to eat dining hall food.
