I'm a high school senior, so this thread will seem premature (and I'm assuming there have been countless threads like it but forgive me - if google didn't find it, I have no hope).

That being said - I'm a high school senior who did not take freshman or sophomore year very seriously. I hovered in the low to mid eighties those years, and junior year I started trying and ended up with around a 91 average (89 first semester, 93 second semester). My GPA is currently an 87 or so, but this is also at Stuyvesant in New York which is about as competitive as they come (I know, Jefferson students, I know).

ANYWAY, right now the most likely of situations is that I end up at NYU, probably in the Liberal Studies program. It's undeniable that my high school transcript isn't a true reflection on my ability as a student - so chances are I will try to transfer out of NYU after freshman year (with hopefully a 4.0 or close to it). I have seen the list of schools and their transfer acceptance rates and all, but does anyone have any insight as to how the process works.

Are schools going to care about my first two years of high school, or rather only college? or Junior, Senior, College. My SAT score is a 2270 - could have done better but I needed test dates to catch up on subject tests so whatever - but do schools look at this when considering transfers?? I really don't know much about the process
