The UC advantage

I have a question. I would like to go to a UC (more specifically UCI) however i have yet to receive any letters of admission or denial. Other than the UC's I applied, I have been admitted to Cal poly. My question is if I were to send in my intent to register to cal poly, and then find out that I got into UCI, can I retract my intend to register? In other words can i send in multiple intends to register and then just pick the school i want to go to?

I don't want to find out that if I do send in my intend to register to cal poly, then that would mean i am absolutely going there.

The question here is when is the SIR due for cal poly?

In short, I don't really think you can submit more than one, and I don't see the point of it either, unless Cal poly's SIR date is wayyy earlier. I would just wait. and plus, I am pretty sure if you submit the SIR, whatever money you have to pay is lost if you don't end up going there.

Basically, I don't see the point..
i mean, if you're in you're in, at least until the deadline for SIR has passed. they are not going to change their mind until then.

I remember people saying last year that there was like a $100 deposit you lost if you send in your SIR then decide to go somewhere else. You're definitely not forced to go anywhere just because you sent in your SIR.

alright i guess ill just wait it out, i hate the wait*!!

the SIR is due may 1st.

why would you waste all that money when you can just send in 1 SIR after all the decisions are out?

I suppose i am just a bit insecure with all the rejects popping out. My GPA is 3.83 but either way cal poly's SIR is due may 1st and UCI is scheduled to finish their admission process on april 30th. Don't want to wait till then to find out i am not in.

plus Cal poly wants some housing money by march 20th
