Well, I wanted to start early on my UC personal statements. I have searched the UC site for the personal statement questions and I have found it.

No, they don't need academic answers. They just need to be done well because mine weren't "professionally" done at all last year.

For my #1 Prompt, I wrote about how much I loved history and sounded like I was on crack and LSD together. It was pretty hilarious, so basically anything that talks about how HS made you better would work. I would write about my favorite subject here and how come you like it and make it humorous, if possible, just anything to stand out.

For #2, I wrote about how I'm libertarian, seriously, I just tied that up with ECs. Basically tie up your best EC with your personal characteristics (i.e. compassion with charitable work and etc.) and write an essay about that.

For #3, write about something that you have or have done that is different from other people.

I don't think there's a limit of what you can write about. The only thing that should be considered is the word limit. As long as you can fit your essay in the space provided, you should be fine. About ideas, you can write about some of the classes you love, possibly those that inspired you to follow a career path or a specific major; maybe write about taking advantage of a college course because your school didn't offer the equivalent AP ... I personally chose the third prompt for the longest essay because some of my most important experiences wouldn't fit elsewhere.

Wow thank you guys! I wasn't even thinking about writing about my classes for #1... I'm in this financial program at school and it would tie up perfectly with my intended major. Jeez... how stupid of me to overlook this. Thanks again.

Dayuum.. I was looking at the questions, and no. 1 is a monster in my opinion.
Other opinions on how to tackle the UC questions? I'm really stuck in a rut right now.

And where are all you guys applying UC-wise?
I'm doing Davis. ^^

yeah I'm pretty stuck also ... I'm applying, hoping, and DYING for UC DAVIS but my application is below avg so I'm hoping a killer essay would boost my chances.

Oh, one more stupid question guys - do we have all 3 personal statements combined into one essay?

I'm pretty sure it is... but I just wanna make sure.

Yah, my main reason for UCD is for instate tuition.
Although I wouldn't mind ending up going to Davis, because I do think all the UCs have preety good standards and education. It might just take a while to eventully get it (since UC Davis is big enough to be it's own town and intro classes are jam-packed from what i hear-- hard to get your core classes).

I might just type mine up as well. Though one that is most specific to me though, because my other ones are vague and could be stolen by mean trolls :(

Yeah, I am in need of writing a kickarse essay to boost my profile for UCB. The UC essays seem like they only want you to write about activities and how they changed you. Bleh! I was hoping for something more on the lines of essays that let you write about how quirky you think not do. I'm having trouble because 1. I have a boring life and 2. writing about creating a magazine club at school doesn't sound like it can be interesting.
