That’s because I use the New Posts function.

IT still freaks me out

MC was easy, skipped one and looked up the answer afterwards…I would’ve gotten it wrong so it was a good decision.

I think I killed the DBQ, wrote 4 pages but took an hour on it haha…so then I wrote Part B FRQ in about 35 minutes and the last one in 20 minutes, but still managed to address the question and provide insight that will give me at least a 6 on it I think.

Am I the only one who thought that was literally the stupidest test ever? It just didn’t ask about anything important. The vast majority of presidents weren’t even mentioned, it hardly asked about any major legislation, court cases were completely brushed over, it just… it sucked. I studied like hell for that stupid thing and it completely brushed over so many major topics in U.S. history. I wanted to prove my knowledge of the different time periods. I don’t feel like I just took an extensive test on U.S. history. It was just an awful test.

I mean… I don’t want to go into too much deal, but the amount of major occurrences in U.S. history that were either completely ignored or mentioned slightly in perhaps one question is just… like it actually makes me mad.

It isn’t like it was an easy test, but I honestly think it would have been easier had it actually asked about so many major occurrences in history. Like… I feel like I did ok. I did pretty well on the multiple choice and pretty well on the essays. But, like, honestly, I almost feel like I would have found it easier had it actually asked stuff that matters. I mean, come on. Presidents, foreign policy, major pieces of legislation… come on now. Where are you?

^ That’s all the stuff I studied. Aka it didn’t do me any good on the test.

I’m mad as well.

amyyyy,

that is because it is standardized.
Yes, I read thru the AMSCO book literally 10 times starting from fall.

I know a lot of stuff what you are talking about…
mcnary haugen bill?
morill land grant act? !becareful there is also morill land act, lol
Amnesty Act?

You kinda have to read both prep books and your textbooks.
That is how I picked up my thematic view of APUS.

I also hope the MC were like this:
What is Hay-Pauncefote Treaty?

I would have nailed that one, lol

It was just a stupid test. I felt like a lot of the questions weren’t even political. I mean, it was just odd. When you step back and think about the major time period/occurrences/bills that weren’t even mentioned… like it blows my mind.

Would I be allowed to say specifically what wasn’t on the test? Most of it pertains to the multiple choice but I could say something about the essays. Would that be ok? It’s not like I’m saying what was ON the multiple choice; I’m saying what it never mentioned. But idk…

viktorialucas: Wait… what do you mean? It was standardized…? Lol, sorry if this is a really dumb question, I’m just not sure what that means.

And I agree. I wanted more questions like that. Even though I don’t know what the Hay-Pauncefote treaty is.

Owned the multiple choice, at least 70/80. So easy! Essays were pretty easy, especially B. I basically bs’ed C. Pretty certain of a 5 with my multiple choice score.

Same. My answer probably was way off the mark, at least for part of it, but whatever… Keeping my fingers crossed!

AMYYY i feel exactly the samee! especially with all of the essays and everything.

and why do i see that the dbq seemed easy to most people?! i had difficulties with outside info

I actually think I did really well on the DBQ, but I struggled with the time period, and the documents covered, like, everything. I dunno… I feel like I beasted on the first paragraph/my thesis, but afterwards it kind of went, well, downhill.

Btw, does anyone know if I’m allowed to say what wasn’t mentioned in the multiple choice? That probably sounds dumb, haha, but it would give insight into what was on the test and I don’t really want my score canceled.

What essays did you all do? I did three and four.

Just to be safe, I wouldnt.
Collegeboard seriously recycles them.

I did 2 and 5, but I probably got form B, cause i am international.
i hope you get a5!

I did 3 and 5.

One could argue that I really didn’t DO 5…

When I saw the topic for 3, I almost jizzed in my pants. My favorite time period in US History. I also did 4 which I completely BSed. I forgot one of the key (like REALLY key) points for 4, but I should get a 6 for that essay.

How harshly are the essays graded?

Actually, I could probably look some up online…

That takes effort. :/

Same question as frenchie (couldn’t find anything online, but I only looked for a second). It would be nice if they printed something like the SAT people do, with sample essays at each score.

My impressions:
MC - A lot of really easy ones, though quite a few difficult ones, too. Fewer moderate questions than the practices I had taken. I agree it seemed like a lot of less significant information was being tested. It was fine, though.
DBQ - I actually laughed when I saw it, but I liked the topic :). There wasn’t too too much outside information from the time period, but I did get to throw in a bunch of outside quotes.
Essays - I did 3 and 4. 3 was wonderful, though my organization suffered a bit as a result of time constraints, but I think I got all the information in that I wanted. 4 was fairly good, but I felt like the way I categorized some of the information left something to be desired.

Overall, expecting somewhere from 60-70 on MC, 8ish on DBQ, 8ish on Essay 3, and 6-7ish on Essay 4. That should be in 5 range, right? Lesson learned: do not wait until 10 PM the night before to start studying. Bad idea.

Finally, do they post your score breakdown when they release scores, or just the overall number?

amyyy, I feel the same way. I studied so hard and took notes on everything till my hand hurt and I nearly fell asleep sitting up, and then like none of the major stuff was covered. The essays were alright, actually I got really lucky except with #3(I literally just tossed in names that I hoped were from that time period and one which I’m sure was not from that period) and said some patriotic stuff to make it sound nice. But I mean there wasn’t anything major on there and I can’t say anything but as for the court cases… Think back to the exam, and you’ll realize literally how VERY few there were. VERY FEW.
But it was a really stupid and lame test, it just felt…weak.

It was very weak. I mean, dude, WWI? WWII? The cold war? Civil Rights? The new deal? Foreign policy? The tariff? It was just… incredibly weak. I just can’t believe they’d leave that stuff out.

I’m thinking the curve will be lower since so many people felt that it was really, really easy. I really wish we could discuss the multiple choice. I actually felt like I struggled with it a bit, but I dunno.

For the DBQ my two main examples in the first paragraph were from the wrong time period. But they were so strong! I honestly don’t know how I could have correctly answered the question without mentioning them. I’m worried now though. I entered my information on those website things that tell you your score and it says I got a five, but I really just feel like I did ok-ish…

It is annoying though. Like I learned so much and I don’t feel like my knowledge of history was well-tested at ALL.

^ True…it didn’t test what we took a whole course for all that well. And yeah I was tempted for the DBQ to use a diff time period too. I mentioned the future generally in my conclusion; I think that’s where that information would fit best.

I did 2 and 4, BS’d the second paragraph of 2 because I didn’t remember much about it. I did a practice essay on the same topic as 4 the day before, so I was like, “yay!!” for number 4.

DBQ-3 pages
each of the FRQ’s-2.5 pages

Some of you guys wrote so much!

I don’t understand why College Board recycles. Seriously. I mean, if someone were to go and look at all of the previous DBQ or FRQ prompts on the College Board site, they could get a really big advantage over other people on some of these exams.

I thought it was pretty easy. I probably missed like 20 MC questions or something like that, and I didn’t even study that much For the essays I did:

DBQ: 2.5 pages

2: 1.5 pages

5: 2.5 pages

I thought I owned the essays, I knew tons of stuff for all the time periods (except the second part of 5, but I think I still did enough) but now I’m worried I didn’t write enough… I do write in cursive though so my letters are a lot closer together, hopefully that’s why mine aren’t very long.
