The ultimate dilema

While I like the vibe and student bodies of LACs, I also kind of want the traditional big college experience. I love college football and march madness, going to parties, being in a college town, racial diversity, school spirit, and all the opportunities of big state universities but I also love the liberal, down to earth student bodies, the courses usually offered, the cozyness, the diversity of interests, and the accepting student body. While I don't like how traditional state universities have huge student bodies, I also don't like how claustrophobic LACs can be. I'm also not into the whole preppy frat thing either.

Any suggestions of colleges that are kind of between an LAC and a big state college?

My dream colleges right now are Wesleyan U and UNC-chapel hill

Look into some mid-sized universities (5000 or so students) which might offer you the best of both worlds. A couple of examples would be Villanova or Lehigh.

I don’t see anything in your post other than the word “cozyness” that doesn’t describe a large university.

Some large state U’s have small honors programs. If you are able to qualify for an honors program that may give you the experience you are looking for.

Look for LACs that are part of a consortium (ie, several LACs grouped together).
How selective are the schools you were thinking of?
