Rather than a lot of really small threads that have nuggets of knowledge here and there, I figured each viewer of this thread could post one or two tips that could lead to an amazing go-to resource.
(sorry if this has been done before ^^)
I guess I’ll start xD
- Don’t be afraid to reach out and find opportunities for yourself. After going through threads here, I always wonder how people did the things that they did. But all it takes is initiative and some guts.
(This thread is already going downhill lol)
- **Research** and try to get committed to a major/career as well as take classes related to that, the earlier the better - trust me. I'm laughing at my friends now who are going to choose a major soon or have to go to undeclared and deal with the impaction.
EDIT: If any of you are interested in Applied Mathematics/Statistics, hit me up.
I have a really long high school advice post [url=<a href=“http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/high-school-life/1661936-if-you-could-redo-anything-in-your-high-school-career-what-would-it-be.html%5Dhere%5B/url”>http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/high-school-life/1661936-if-you-could-redo-anything-in-your-high-school-career-what-would-it-be.html]here[/url]. For this thread, I’ll address what I think is a common misconception:
- College applications will not ask how many volunteer hours you have (though some scholarship applications might, and they might be required to graduate from your high school). Your ECs can involve community service, but they don't have to.
Don’t watch netflix on school days.
