This just came to my mind a few days ago: Would a URM who qualified for USAMO be practically assured a spot at top colleges (assuming competitive GPA, reasonable SATs, etc.)? I personally thought that it wouldn't be enough, but then again how many URMs have you heard of qualifying for USAMO....of course if we're talking MOP then I'd probably say it's a given XD

(I'm not trying to sound racist, just gauging how much certain factors help in the admissions process...and no I'm not a URM so I'm not asking about myself lol)

no dank08, it depends on your race unfortunately.
US used to be racist against black, not it's racist against asians.

anyway, if urm girl got USAMO then it's basically garantee (assuming everything else is "decent")
if it's urm, then he has a great great chance, but not a garantee.
if it's a non-urm girl, she has a great great chance at tech schools or schools that have separate app for engineering school.

You guys are oversimplifying. There is no such thing as a "guarantee" to get into every university you apply to. Sure URM, USAMO qualifier, female are all going to help your application, but it's not like the aggregate sum of them will ensure a spot at a top college.

No, if you were a child actor who discovered the cure for a major tropical disease and won the Pulitzer Prize for a best-selling novel, besides solving the P vs. NP problem, being nationally ranked in football and crew and feeding the entire homeless population of America, that would be the ultimate hook. Nothing else will guarantee you admissions.

ok, a urm female who got in USAMO has a GREAT chance, 99.999% of getting in.
so it's not garentee.
