The Ultimate Supply List for Boarding School

so that you’re not a shut-in who never goes out of their room for anything besides classes. also its ‘fire hazard’ due to all the eckeltricity :/

ok u suriously hav issues if a mini fridge is gonna keep you in ur room all day

hi! anyway my family all share a mac and my dad just got me a macbook, so when I go to boarding school (well if I make it into one hopefully!) we’ll just chat on ichat. Its really good!
oh and I know this has passed but I saw these really good wellies called Hunter wellies (they’re a little exy) but the are such a good idea and really stylish!

oops just realised we were both waaay past those topics.
Yeah I would definitely get a mini fridge for my dorm room! and store all my alcohol in it! jokes ahaha I hate alcohol

im just sayin’ , some people, not me, would/may do that

i don’t know if this has been said but: MONEY- for little things like food etc

No mini fridge because of electricity usage…not green. Son’s dorm has one larger fridge on each dorm floor that all can use.

if i bring a laptop do i need to bring it to ever class? or can i hook it up to my printer and leave it in my room for the most of my year?

and are mini fridges even allowed?

mini fridges are allowed some places. most don’t bring laptops to class.

Whoa, exactly ONE MONTH (well… 31 days) left until the letters are sent!!! I’m so nervous right now, it’s ridiculous. I shouldn’t be this nervous - I barely have a chance.

I’m sure you’ll get accepted into schools nataliet! Heaps of people feel exactly how you are right now.

I heard somewhere that hair straighteners aren’t allowed at Exeter - is this true, and if so, strictly enforced? I know it sounds girly and shallow of me to worry about this, but I recently got bangs, and since I have wavy hair, if I don’t straighten that little bit in the morning, I look like Medusa! I want to know so I can start growing it out now O_O

I read in their student handbook or whatever it’s called that hair straighteners and blow driers weren’t allowed, but my tour guide had both in her room.

people have them at exeter.

is there anywhere else w/ this rule?

That’s a relief! ^____^
Are cough drops on the list? They might be a good thing for when you have a sore throat, but you’re not sick enough to go to the nurse.

ahaha I don’t really use my hair straightener but it would suck if they didn’t let you have them at certain BS’s! Some of my friends would die without their hair straighteners. Even some girls brought theirs on school camps ahaha

I wouldn’t DIE without my hair straightener… but I would be very sad. And silly looking.

Where does your daughter go to school?

I suppose this is premature, but I wanted to bump this thread! Compiled:
