The University of California schools...

Which of these schools are the best schools? I am an international student so I don't know much. I think UCLA and UCSD give international scholarships but I'm not entirely sure. Also, how hard is it to get into these schools? And, how good are these schools (in college rank etc;)
thanks in advance

anyone?...

UC Berkeley is the best, followed by UCLA and UCSD.

anyone else?

You can't really rank them, but imo, Berkeley and UCLA are very good.

The UC system does accept students from overseas-and from what I understand from friends living overseas- UC Berkeley is probably most prestigious. Several of the UCs have strong standings, with most agreeing that UCB, UCLA and UCSD being the top 3 UCs in most rankings. Now, with that being said, what major do you want to pursue? Maybe one of the other UCs would be a better fit. As you are from overseas, and talking about scholarships, you may wish to look at Liberal Arts Colleges (LACs) located in California--ie Santa Clara University or Pomona or University of the Pacific.
Good Luck!

The University of California system has a website:

<a href="http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu%5B/url%5D">www.universityofcalifornia.edu</a></p>

Looking under international admissions it does say:

"Financial Assistance and Additional Fees

Most international students find it difficult to obtain financial assistance in the United States, particularly if no aid has been offered by an academic department or scholarship organization before arrival in the United States.

Undergraduates

The University awards a very limited number of grants, loans and scholarships to international undergraduates. At some campuses, no assistance is available to international undergraduates."

Yes, the UCs do accept international students, but the taxpayers in the state of California would be a bit upset if state money was used to pay for education of students from outside the state. So the grants, loans, and scholarships they mention are private donations. On the UCLA website they specifically say they do not offer financial aid or scholarships to students that are not citizens or permanent residents of the United States.
