Told my daughter last night about the emails some early action 2 have received giving them spring admission. After a few tears from the realization that she isn’t getting into her top choice… she was just angry. Not that she didn’t get in, but that they have been dragging her along and giving a glimmer of hope. Even if she were to get an offer now- we have no interest. Time to focus on making a choice from all the other great options that she has!
I don’t know about the others, but my daughter who received an offer of Spring admission was deferred from FastTrack, not EA2. Who knows what UT will do. None of it makes any sense.
My daughter was also deferred from Fast Track and hasn’t heard a peep. It’s interesting that we thought Tampa would be her first acceptance and now will likely be the last college she hears from and probably not even an acceptance! In the meantime she has gotten into and visited colleges that have moved way up on her list, past Tampa so maybe it’s a blessing and she is meant to go somewhere else.
I have been through the college admissions process with two other kids. I have to say this is the first time it hasn’t been fun. I will say that for different reasons, neither of my other two ended up where they thought they would be, but both have ended up being in the right places for them. It will work out.
Thank you. This is our first go-round so I appreciate the words from others with experience. It’s definitely a stressful time waiting so long!
With my first, 5 years ago, we had 3 decisions by the second week in January. Even FSU had a different process back then. They actually used EA.
I reached out to the admissions counselor and she confirmed my daughter did receive merit for Spring (and the amount).
Is anyone still waiting to hear after EA or Fast Track deferral? One of my daughter’s friends heard yesterday that she is admitted for Spring 2023. She still hasn’t heard. She was Fast Track. Ha - I guess it’s not so fast.
Yes, my daughter is still waiting (Fast Track) but will not be attending even if she’s accepted. She’s feels she has better options.
One of her friends from ED just received an acceptance this week. I’m not sure if it was for Fall or Spring.
Yeah they went way down on our list too. And I keep reading about the housing issue. I don’t think we need that additional stress of deciding to go there and then scrambling for housing. It’s our last school to hear from though.
Applied fast track back in October, was deferred in December and still waiting!!
I told my daughter to just pull her application but I think she just want to see the outcome.
This school was top of her list… Now she wouldn’t attend even if they gave her a full scholarship. Such a disappointment in how the treat applicants and their overall communication. She chose Coastal Carolina and is so excited!
Daughter finally got rejection this evening. Very surprised but relieved to know. I didn’t want to have to worry about the housing situation if she got in at the end of it. All our decisions are in except for U of SC waitlist which we aren’t counting on anyway.
rejected this evening after being deferred, assuming i was yielded as my stats are above the average
Rejected after being deferred EA.
@overstressedMom At the recent accepted students day in NJ, the Tampa representatives told us that this year they accepted 900 students LESS than last year to fix the housing issue. And if deposits were paid by 1/1/22, on campus housing is likely guaranteed.
So you would have needed to get accepted for early action in order to be guaranteed housing it seems like.
Just saw that kids have finally gotten acceptance or denied. My D, who applied Fast Track is still pending. Crazy… anyone else?
My daughter who was deferred to RD hasn’t heard anything yet.
