Deferred and now has lost all interest in UT.
Deferred here too and sadly is my daughters top choice. Did anyone get rejected or only deferrals?
Deferred here. Sad thing is my kid is legacy and although we are OOS, my parents and extended family only live about 20 minutes from campus. The school checked all the boxes.
It may be a blessing, my daughter has sent me so many TikToks of students not having housing, bad communication on UT’s part, and transferring out.
My ds was accepted early action, but to be honest these are the reasons he probably won’t go. It started out as his first choice, but everything he’s seeing on social media is really turning him and us off.
My daughter really thought it would be a great back up school, to her first choice, but she got into San Diego State and waiting on UC’s and now is not looking back to UT. Good luck to your son, I hope he has some other options. Everyone says they end up where their supposed to.
This is what my daughter said!!! She said she kept seeing tik toks about how UT has no school spirit and just negative. So she felt better about being deferred because she started to think maybe it wasn’t the right fit anyway.
Thanks and same for your daughter. He received a few other acceptances so he’s moved on from being obsessed with it. Even without the social media negativity, the lack of guaranteed freshman housing made it a non-starter for us.
Has anyone that was deferred back in December received any updates??? Still waiting over here
Waiting. I am guessing they won’t decide until they receive semester 1 grades.
His first semester grades were sent the first week of January, I guess it’s just a waiting game, so frustrating!!
Anyone accepted to the honors program? My son just got an email inviting him to an honors brunch. We had no idea he was admitted to honors. I think when he got admitted it said the decision letter would follow and I don’t think we ever checked the portal again until today. Need to look into it more to see what it offers. We thought the honors dorms were a little strange when we visited.
My daughter received the same email - I’m not sure if she is interested in the honors program though. We also have to do a little more research as well.
We went to the open house Sunday and they said they were hoping by end of February
I emailed admissions and they said i should have a decision by feb 20th. i got deferred ea
did they mention why it was changed from march 31 to february 20th? do you know if this is for all deferred ea applicants or case by case basis?
I think the EA deferrals said “by March 31” and not on March 31.
they said the same thing about fast track decisions being released by december 1st and then a lot of us didn’t hear until that day. just wondering if february 20th is when most deferred applications will hear back.
I understand about the FastTrack decisions and the deferrals, my kid was right there with you. I just know the letter we got said “by March 31st.”
