The University of Texas Class of 2020 Decisions Thread

I’ve never thought the definition of " by the weekend" would be this much confusing and frustrating haha

@pk2608 It is probably better that you go to a school that will cater to your individual whims. I don’t mean to be disrespectful but their website clearly states that Intl. students will be notified by mid-April. I don’t think UT is losing anything if you decide not to attend. I’m not sure why that you feel so entitled and special that the rules don’t apply to you. I have no idea why you applied if you weren’t willing to wait until the published deadline. Please do everyone a favor and withdrawn your application so that you can feel superior and make your point.

Honestly most schools don’t give decisions on the weekend that’s just how it goes

@CollegeMama987 I don’t need your advice to do something and when to do it. Just do what you’ll want to and stop suggesting what I should. It totally proves that you don’t have anything else to do except suggesting

@pk2608, I think you’ll do great at A&M. They like you and have great kool-aid! \m/

Spoke with UT admission office just now. They said many decisions will be released by the weekend, although the office is closed over the weekend. They hesitated to say anything about “today”, but confirmed quite a few decisions will go next week as well, until March 1.

@TXDad56 maybe I’ll do good enough at CMU too!

Lol I can’t believe i’m searching for the definition of ‘weekend’. SMH

I think they like to release decisions later in the day so they’re not in the office when applicants find out. Then the admissions staff won’t have to answer phone calls and emails about their decisions!

@sonicboy LMAO, that was literally the funniest thing i’ve read in a while. Thank you for lightening up the mood a bit for this stressful day! ha!

True! That’s exactly what Collegeboard does…

@pk2608 I get frustrated by international students who want the opportunity of an education in the United State but don’t want to follow the rules and/or feel superior to students in the United States.

Congrats @pk2608. Are you in or do you have to wait for their April 15th RD notification date. They are soooooo sloooow.

Noooooooo @TXDad56 That’s where my son will go if UT doesn’t come through. Same major. That said, as we say in Texas, I’d like to buy him for what he’s worth and sell him for what he thinks he’ll bring

Literally just watching this thread with a bucket of popcorn XD

@bananafofanna I literally chuckled. :))

Haha about 80 minutes left for the decision if it’s same as last year… I already refreshed “my status” about 30 times so far just for today lol

@sonicboy ditto!.. really funny! i cracked up like crazy when i saw that!

@BPGBPG sir, there’s nothi like I feel superior, if that’s what you felt I’m sorry. What I meant was that UT is slow. I never disgrace US education in general. No one would. What I meant that UT is being as professional as other universities

This is my take on the “By the Weekend”. Admissions twitter said earlier on their feed, that the servers cannot handle all the decisions at once. So, unlike a mass email being sent and it arriving simultaneously into our inboxes, the servers will be sending decisions in blocks, so to speak. These blocks can continue to be sent out throughout the day (when they eventually begin) and can keep on through the weekend, until it has run out of decisions to send.
Last year, when decisions began rolling out at 1:00 pm, some people got theirs at 8:00pm and it kept rolling into the next day.
