I have to decide between UCSB and another school. The other school is a small college town and is isolated and seems like a lot of fun. What is UCSB like?

I have no idea of the environment. Is it like boring UC's like UCSD or UC riverside? or is it more fun like UCLA? How would you compare the environment at UCSB to other UC's?

UCSB is the funnest UC hands down. It is the #1 party school in California, and one of on the top 10 party schools on the entire country. I guess UCSB is more comparable to UCLA, but in reality the fun scale goes form the most boring UC to UCSB being the funnest. UCSB is not isolated, it is next o Goleta, and just a few minutes from Santa Barbara, which has to be one of the most beautiful beach towns, I mean not for nothing did Prince William and Kate go vacation there. As far as I know isolated is bad, think about it, what is there to do if there is nothing close by? and also what job opportunities are there if it’s isolated? And Isla Vista is literally a mile by a mile college town composed of mostly UCSB students next to UCSB, a place where there is no law when ti comes down to parties. It is the wonderland of any college-aged person, and the party scene there is beyond anything you have seen, sure you may have seen a crazy party before, but not a street with 3 full on raves per block, with girls and guys DTF everywhere. We ave the biggest Halloween celebration in California, look it up on youtube. AND our music festival is coming soon too. We always have some famous singer or rapper, a non-mainstream band, and others. This year we are having

Surfer Blood

Oh and did I mention we literally have our own beach. You can go run or walk or tan as much as you want. And surfing is great too.

@koolboy. I am not someone who drinks/plans on drinking or is down to party hard. I like to have fun but UCSB doesn’t seem like the right school. Also, I am not a surfer kind of californian. I am from San Diego and hate it here.

You’ve heard Katy Perry’s “Last Friday Night”… the lyrics speak for themselves. Just to throw it out there, Katy Perry’s from SB. She’s probably describing her high school days here, probably went down to IV to party
