I have roughly a 3.3 unweighted GPA, and 5.3 weighted(my district doesn't cap). By the end of first quarter of senior year, I hope to have a 3.5. Total, I've taken 6 APs, plus I'm in IB.

In terms of standardized testing, I got a 1370 M&V, 2010 total. 29 on the ACT. I'm retaking both of these. Plus SAT IIs in November.
Extracurrics:
Newspaper 4 years
Volleyball 3 yrs.
A program where I was able to work in a lab, 5 years
Key club 4 years
President of an activist club in 10th grade
NHS, plus journalism and spanish honor societies
An organization that puts on plays for underprivileged children, and I help make blankets for the needy.

These are the schools I'm applying to: Chapel Hill, Tulane, Drexel, UVA, USF, UF, Pitt, PSU, UGA, Cornell, BU, UMass, and Vanderbilt.

I should mention that I'm an Asian girl and reside in Florida. Oh, and I'm top 5% in my class(promise), and I have 3 years of work experience, as a pharmacy tech, and working in a lab. I was a volunteer at NIH one summer.

So uh... what are my chances? Obviously, I won't get into some on that list, but what WILL I get into?

No, I know it's very odd. Thing is, my district bases it's GPA on the ENTIRE county. And I have a huge county, meaning that with my weighted thanks to IB/AP courses is pretty much guaranteed to be top 5%. It sounds odd, but when get rank gets reported, I'll be up there.

That is a very strange way of doing things! I didn't mean to be rude or anything, I was just curious. The kids at my school with 3.3s are nowhere near the 5% mark.

Yeah, there's no way it would happen at my school;it IS fiercely competitive. I believe someone had an 8.something, since the county doesn't cap. But there's some intense grade inflation too.

Yeah, you should be in at Tulane, as well. Since those choice applications are EA (I'm applying to Drexel for their human rights concentration), you've got a good shot.

I'm not familiar with Florida schools, myself, or Pitt or PSU. Sorry!
