i got about the same amount of money from both of these schools and plan to defer a year. I will not be able to visit either before may 1 and i know that both are great schools. what matters the most to me about their differences is the theater programs. I plan to go into theater as a... life so i want what is best. I know that neither has a conservatory like program but i would love to know any thoughts!!

Send a PM to TheVeganActress who's a current student at Kalamazoo.

Some links regarding K's Theatre Dept:

help! i have to decide in the next couple of days

I am going to Earlham and will participate in theatre. I have heard from a couple of students that if you want theatre Earlham is not the place, so going on that I would choose K. for you, but its up to you. I will not be a theatre major at Earlham so.

Also, I just took a look at the links GoBlueAlumMOM posted and K. seems to have a great season going.

One thing I would say is Earlham has much more out of state students then K. I think Earlham is 20% instate and K. is 70% instate so if you are not from Michigan, I would think about how you would feel if alot of people leave on the weekends.

^^Yes, K is about 1/3 OOS but my S is a current student who rarely comes home, and reports that most kids also stay in-town on weekends. There's a large state U next door to K and plenty of activities available both on and off campus.
