Hi! I’ve been accepted to Muhlenberg, among others, and want to study Theatre Arts, focusing on performance.
However, despite doing lots of research on the program, I am unable to tell how well regarded the program is, and if it has a good reputation in the theatre industry. In addition, I’m wondering how many graduates are actually able to get jobs in theatre after graduating.
If anyone could answer my questions that would be fantastic.
Thanks
I can’t answer your question, but I do recommend that you contact the school directly for some of this information. The school can probably give you stats on the number of graduates able to get jobs after graduating. I believe it is worth a try to find out if the school can put you in contact with a current student in the Theatre Arts program to ask them the questions you have asked here. That way you can speak directly with someone who is in the thick of things and probably has a good grasp of the theater community’s take on Muhlenberg.
I would be sure to compare that to other performing arts programs, which will be a small percentage across the board. It would probably be more helpful to look 3-5 years down the line after graduation to see who has remained committed to the industry as opposed to new graduates.
