Does U of Chicago have a good theatre program?
not in terms of acting/drama but in terms of stage management/technical theatre. I am very interested in stage production(such as concerts), and still am not sure if U of C has the appropriate programs or not.

We don't have much of an academic theater program, but what we have, you can check out here:

if you came to the U of C interested in stage production, you would probably get most of your experience extracurricularly and study TAPS or something unrelated.

If you're looking for academic programs in theater, check out DePaul U. They have a theater tech major, along with a lot of other theater programs:

ACADEMICS: Majors

At the University of Chicago, you will definitely find a small but dedicated group of students who are interested in production and its technical aspects. However, every one of them will have made a decision that getting a strong liberal arts education is more important to him or her than getting a strong beackground in theater tech, and most of what they do is on a volunteer, teach-each-other kind of basis.
