HELP. Never heard of it; missed out; is it too late? Sounds like everyone is hot to be a part of it. How did this happen? Or perhaps Marshall kids can't do it? What's the story? Can anyone help? THANKS...

Students from Marshall can do it.

Thematic Option is like a honor GE program. It is basically another way to fulfill the GE requirements and the classes are harder and smaller.

Supposedly, a typical TO student has SAT I math and verbal score above 1450 and average high school grades of "A"

You receive an invitation by mail and have to complete a short application. The deadline was March 30th and the acceptance letter for TO already came out.

Hope that helped.

Thanks...
My son was invited to be in the Honors Business Program for Marshall (Global something...) but I don't recall anything about a GE Honors Program. Perhaps we missed it. Bummer. Shall call the school tomorrow to see if it's really too late!!!

Just to let you know, they told us on an explore usc date that if someone still really, really wanted to be part of TO, then they could still send in an application. However, I was also personally told by many students that TO really is a mixed bag. Some of the TO classes give more work, but work that isn't interesting (just busy-work), and some are also a lot less interesting than they sound on paper. I was originally going to send in an application, but then missed the deadline. Then I was going to try to send one in late; however, after hearing some strong thoughts on the program, I decided against it.

I have seen posts where it is referred to as the "tramatic option"!

hahaha

well i sent in a late application today

Son still can't decide. GOSH --- wish we could get more info!!!
ANYONE??? Current students??? Could you ask around???
Many, many thanks.
