What are colleges' views on theology classes in high school (i.e. those required for graduation by religious schools)? I've heard they just ignore them, but that seems stupid to me.

Theology at my school is a lot of work and an immense amount of memorization. I assume colleges will look at my transcript and at least acknowledge the fact that it was a required class and I couldn't take another AP in its place. Besides, most colleges do offer studies in religion, so I don't see why theology would be treated any differently than math or history.

If you can't get any college prep credit (as might be true at the UC's), how about using it as an EC?

^ word to the OP. same with my school. Apologetics (a logical/persuasive/rhetorical approach to theology) is one of our hardest courses.

lol my school is also a religious school. It's Catholic High school while I'm buddhist :D
anyway, I assume if you go a catholic high school, you may get into religion affiliated college a little bit more easily :D

^ If I wanted to go to a Catholic school, which I certainly don't.

Don't worry about this. The Ad Coms know all about religious schools and theology requirements. They know full well that these requirements can limit your course selection.
