THEY called...what does this mean

<p>so...I have sent everything but the application because I thought I was going to apply for EA (ran out of time...damn essays)</p>

<p>and I included an extra recommendation (not a required material) from a professor who helped me a lot on my community service projects and clubs.</p>

<p>He called me yesterday saying that UChicago called them last night, asking specifically about my activities and stuff. What does this mean? Are they just checking, or are they really showing a big interest in me?</p>

<p>BTW, I am likely to apply for IR.</p>

<p>They are very good at keeping students they are interested on in their radar screens. Happened with S even after being accepted EA.</p>

<p>really? i would guess they thought something looked suspicious and they were getting his verification because you mentioned his connection with you and your activities... even if this is the case, you shouldn't worry if he vouched for you</p>

<p>Hmm... the teachers who wrote my recommendations don't know much of what I do outside of their classrooms, I provided them a "resume" so to speak. That could be a problem :-/</p>

<p>I think it means they want you to apply, but don't read any more into it yet.</p>

<p>They might just want to clarify something that your teacher wrote. Like Vossron said, don't read too much into it.</p>
