Uh.. I didn't apply EA.

Hey guys. I just went to check my decisions, and this is what I got.

"Dear XXX,

Thank you for your interest in the University of Chicago. The Admissions Committee has reviewed your application, and while we are unable to offer you a place in the class at this time, we would like to review your file again in the spring.

The Committee will reconsider your application and any new information you send in the Regular Notification pool. Please arrange for your mid-year report and an updated transcript to be sent to our office as soon as they are available...."

That's the response to EA applicants. But I applied RD - and I see no decisions!

I just emailed them about it, but I don't know what's up.. I didn't even submit my application until late December..

Is this some glitch on behalf of UChicago's part? :/

I think they meant to waitlist you.

Oh? And when do waitlist -> accepted results come out?

That’s just it, UChicago is notoriously slow to announce those final decisions. IIRC, last year there were people on CC who were still wondering what had become of their applications well into June.

Though this year is probably going to be different. I mean, I don’t think the waitlist has ever been so long before.

June…? Don’t us seniors need to send in those deposits for colleges by May 1st or something for the majority of schools…?

How will we know then? Ugh…

UChicago is my top choice…

You put down a deposit for another school, and then if you’re admitted to UChicago you can choose to attend. However, you lose your deposit at that other school.
