Thick envelope?

What are we expecting...thick envelope or thin?

Thin business-sized envelope, but you can tell that there is more than one sheet of paper in it.

An important question . . .

shouldn't it be thicker for the RD people since there should be financial aid stuff?

Yeah, it shouldn't be the same as EA was... I think Gtown will be more in the "we have to woo them" -mood... Possibly a package? (Hopefully).

Although probably a letter like EA. A small, standard envelope.

I would think Fin Aid stuff wouldn't come in the same envelope- any correspondence I've had regarding my admittance has come in an Admissions envelope, and when they mailed me to say I was missing forms it was clearly labeled Office of Financial Aid or whatever.

Anyway, for EA our envelopes for accepted students were standard sized with two sheets of paper in them, one white and one gray.

does it strike anyone else as funny when you stop and really think about these posts? i'm in the same boat as you all, and i'm just as paranoid, but you have to admit that our reporting on the size, color, labelling, and thickness of envelopes is pretty funny. we're so desperate. can't we just wait for the envelope, whatever it's composition, open it, and find out instead of overanalyzing like this??

no, i guess we can't...

well, I'm glad GT sends everything in the same size envelope. We can actually open them that way and not be let down simply by opening the mail box. MIT sent their acceptance letters in huge envelopes with giant yellow letters, so you felt the let-down right away when you didn't have one in your mail box. I don't know. I guess we're all just anxious and don't want to be disappointed before we even open the darn letter.

yeah, or we want that .1 second head start on the decision

From last year, the regular decision letters came in the business sized envelopes. The financial aid decisions didn't come in those, at least i think...lol. You get the letter, deposit information, and maybe a card or something to return, can't really remember. The thing I didn't like was that you don't really get any cool information/packets until after you say you're attending. I remember my friend that got into Penn got a really nice acceptance packet, w/ housing info, etc., then got this huge welcome guide or something to Penn, and she didn't even say she was going!

Once you send in the deposit, you'll get the student guide, etc. Later on you get the New Student Register, and more stuff I forgot. After your acceptance you'll get letters from different offices. One of them is from the office of the president i think, and it's kind of personalized, saying something to the affect of "the application pool was highly selective, blah blah blah, and the admissions committee took notice of your outstanding participation in Model United Nations. The International Relations Club participates in various Model UN conferences throughout the year, blah blah blah"(that's what mine said). So, just remember, save all of the letters! Some people frame them, lol.

oh yeah, just like someone said, info on aid always comes from the Financial Aid office. So no, the decisions aren't in the same envelope.
