Thick or thin - December awaits

I've asked this before but didn't get a response.

Will we have to suffer the stereotypical "thick or thin" crisis when we check our mail in mid-December? Or does Stanford do like Yale and use all the same size?

thick, with "congratulations" prominently printed on the outside, so u'll know immediately, regardless of size...this is only what i hear from other people...

does anyone know how it worked last year?

hm.. my letter from UW Madison said, "YES" in really big letters on the back. But I have no idea if Stanford does that. Yikes I'll be so scared!! will someone post when they find out? b/c if (when) I get one that deosn't say something on the back, I'll be freaking out.

I'll probably end up hearing from my Mom. She enjoys opening my mail. I should probably warn her about the size thing so she doesn't get her hopes up over a flimsy letter.

Yeah, I've heard the "congratulations" thing too. But I'm still wondering what the real info is on whether we can call or not...

-Ender

I'm sure you can call. most of the times its a student who is manning the phones in the admissions office. if anything they can tell you who talk to in order to find out. THey are pretty nice, no one will yell at you for calling or anything
I don't know how much faith to put in the "thick vs thin" theory. I know someone who got a thin letter from a college, and threw it away without opening it. And it turned out to be an acceptance... so the moral of the story is: READ ALL YOUR MAIL you never know

my friend got in last year. his envelope was standard 9 by 12 envelope but had no indication of whether you got in on the outside. after you take off the first layer of paper its wrapped in it said "congratulations". but i guess if its big you would already know wouldnt you?

does anyone know FOR SURE what the envelope will look like??

no, unless we have a spy who works in the amdissions office. lol... I wish

I don't see how there's any way to know for sure...
all we can go on is what we know from years previous.

I'm sure somebody will post as soon as he/she gets in, with all the juicy envelope details :-)
