Your scores are very low for JHU and I can't speak for the other schools. Sorry.

JHU is near impossible. chance me?

hmm why not college park?

I need reasons!!!
and... I wrote a killer essay for JHU as said by 10 english teachers in my school

Probably everything except for Johns Hopkins (SAT is way too low) and College Park.

i need reasons about why i may not be admitted to college park

hmm anybody who IS a student of college park, please comment on my chances
please

Hey snowy. I live in Towson and will try to help you understand why College Park is hard to get into.

First of all, due to the economic state we are in, more people are applying to state schools (especially if they live in that state). Ergo, the application pool is a lot tougher.

Regardless, University of Maryland has always been fairly difficult to get into, even from instate. According to USNews, the Fall 2007 acceptance rate was 47%. That's actually higher than some years.

Furthermore, the average GPA and SAT of accepted students is known to be much higher than your scores.

"Average freshman high school GPA: 3.86
Average freshman SAT verbal score: 628
Average freshman SAT math score: 655"

Almost four years ago, my sister, who had an A- average at a well-known private school, a 1300/1600, and some decent ECs, was wait listed from out of state (underrepresented state too). A colleague of my stepfather had a daughter that was rejected from Maryland, and her dad was a head of a department there.

Based on this information, your chances are slim. But GL~!

p.s. I also applied there with a tad higher stats in some areas and my counselor says my chances aren't great :D.

towson is prolly your best choice. No way your getting into College Park with a 3.2 and a 1670.

hmm could there be luck??
