I am obsessing over college too much. What should I do? Should I begin by not starting useless threads on College Confidential?? Please help!

Find a safety that you love, and then you’ll know that whatever happens, your worst case scenario is still absolutely okay!

^ What if there is no such thing? (As is the case for me.)

Live so that you feel content with each day. Don’t live for colleges, live for what you love and love to do now.

^ Spoken like a pro

I second hanana

Go for what you aim for. That’s all. I don’t buy that comfort crap… if you want to get into your dream school, do everything you can to get in.

We’re sending mixed messages here lol… but I agree with all of the above. I have exactly the same problem and everyone tells you to “live for today, not for what you think colleges want to see”. I like the way this sounds, and obsessing over anything isn’t a good idea, but RAlec114 is right too - you can’t just sit around either. You have to go after what you want. Yes, the system is messed up and promotes high school kids panicking until they get accepted, making it impossible to simply “live for today” and not worry about it, but that’s the way it is. Try your best to enjoy life as it goes by, but don’t lose sight of what’s ahead either. Go for it with your whole heart and you won’t be disapointed. Good luck!

If you can’t find a safety that you like… that’s a huge problem. You might be too focused on the prestige of a college. Recognize the attributes that attract you to your reaches/matches, and find similar schools with higher acceptance rates. Also, try not to be hellbent on one school. I’ve personally decided not to decide my “first choice” school until after I know who accepts me.

Get off of CC.

Find a hobby.

git laid

lol if u dont go 2 hrvrd u r a failure bcuz ccers said so hahahaha

Thank you guys for all your help, it is much appreciated.

Now I am off to be content with my life, get into my dream school, find some hobby, “git” laid, and get off of this website.

Tell yourself, whatever happens, happens. Work as hard as you want to reach your goal, but realize that if it ain’t enough, that’s fine too. A safety school is a good school too!

M-my m-m-m-mommy always t-t-tells me to try my b-b-best. She t-t-tells me I’m sp-sp-special.
